Found another growing rarity in my neck of the woods - OC12, Classic 90. Also found another OCPR. This one has a plain gold top instead of the BHC logo on the band. I am sure it has been covered here, but is this a recent development? My guess is that it is the last of the production and for whatever reason, they decided to pull the BHC tops. I was talking to a couple of store owners this week who said they have not been able to get any OCPR in the last 1-2 years. I suppose it has been going dry for some time now as production slowed. Makes me wonder what else will be discontinued in the future at BT (and elsewhere) as inventories of old bourbon continue to dwindle (and demand remains steady or increases).

Anybody know if $66 a good price for the new bourbon out of HH honoring Parker Beam? I saw it for the first time on Wednesday in a couple of stores. When first hearing about it, I figured it would be pushing the $90 mark. I passed on it for now but may go back after the next payday.

Evan Williams BIB in LaGrange, Georgia, for $10.99. I've found some references to this bourbon, but this has a green label, not the white one discussed elsewhere. It's a bright green with white lettering. I'ts got a red scroll with "SINCE 1783" across it in yellow, and a yellow scroll with red lettering that says "KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY". To top it off, there's a cute drawing of a log cabin distillery on it. This is not a bottle that can be ignored.

I can't find a date code printed on it. It says distilled by Stonegate DSP-KY 31 and bottled by Evan Williams same plant.

There's no age statement, so I assume it's a 4yo, which means it's been collecting at least seven years worth of dust.

There were a lot of them on the shelf, and I saw them at another store. On the other hand, both this store and the other have a bunch of ER101 on the shelves, so maybe they made some bad purchasing decisions.

Uh -- yeah, that's a good price! Your first instinct was correct.

I love that stuff and that's $14 less than I paid (and I assume you don't have to pay shipping), if they were that price around here I would probably buy another to stash.

Just bought 2 WT:AS and 1 VWFRR. I've been looking for the WT:AS thinking that at least some stores around here would have it but no one did so I'm taking a bit of a drive tomorrow to pick them up. The VWFRR was just an afterthought since I've been drinking a bit of rye lately, I figured I couldn't go wrong. :)

Thanks for the info. Probably be heading thru that town again next month. If any are left, think I'll pick up 1 for posterity. Bottle was nice and the contents should be even nicer. Maybe by the time the whole series is done in a few years - and if it is as good as it looks and sounds, I'll be able to put another back for a rainy day in the future. With all of the bourbon out there these days, it is hard to pick up extras of anything and stay out of debt!

At the end of a long day, I decided to make one last spirit shop stop while running an errand for the wife. Did not expect much.....but sure glad I did. I was reaching up, rambling around on the top bourbon shelf thru & around the latest Antique Collection arrivals. At the very back - behind some leftover WLW 05 editions was......unbelievably, an 06 edition - 129.9 proof! I had to look at it twice - and twice more before believing my eyes. Never thought I would see another 06 WLW outside of pictures here and the half empty one in my cabinet. This find has more than soothed my pain over the disappearance of OCPR. Also, they had over a case of Weller 12 on the shelf at a very reasonable $19. I'll be going back there again soon.....and often!

I purchased 4R SB. I was looking also at Baker's, but I've had that before and wanted to try something new that also had some good reviews. I like Baker's and will purchase it again(soon, I'm sure) but the 4RSB was a good choice.

Well, the WT American Spirit arrived in Indy and Rancastle picked them up for me. $84.99 plus tax. Wish I'd grabbed more when I was in KY!

In case anyone was curious, I wrote Heaven Hill about the weird Evan Williams bottled in bond I picked up in Georgia. It's a green label with white and red and yellow on it and a drawing of a log cabin.

It's a current product that is sold only in Georgia. It is currently in production, but mine says it was distilled at DSP-KY 31, so it's either old stock or an old label.

It is, as I assumed, four years old. It's interesting that the "BOTTLED IN BOND" statement is on a separate label on the shoulder, not on the main label or the neck label.

Stopped at Binny's near downtown Chicago at around 10:30 (they open at 8 am) to see if they had 4R Yellow Label. They said it was expected today. Hopefully it'll be in the 'burbs, too. Grabbed their last Stagg '07 to bunker, since my first one's almost half gone (not pessimistic, just realistic).

Also grabbed a 40" Sony LCD TV (Bravia W series) on the way home--awesome picture. Another BIG TOY!

i am not quite impressed.

Driving home from happy hour I couldn't resist stopping in at a store I knew had some BTAC bottles and grabbing a Saz18. The one I have now is getting pretty low, it's going faster than any of the other Antiques on the bar.

I'm on vacation next week and decided to finally start doing some exploring around Denver so Googled Liquor stores in Denver and checked a few web sites. First purchase was Heritage Discount Wine and Liquor (www.spiritsusa.com) where I ordered for pickup WT AS for 74.99 plus tax. I wanted to make sure I got some and it was cheaper than Dawn said it was in Indy so I jumped. Hope they aren't out of stock.

Next stop was Davidson's Liquors (www.davidsonsliquors.com) where they had the whole BTAC listed at 59.99 each. Oh well, ordered my Stagg and WLW again for pickup on monday. I listed the urls in case anyone else having problems finding these might want to try their luck. If I run into any problems I'll update here.....Monday I'm goin huntin, but I ain't bringin no gun....

Dane, I've heard reports over the years of the old 7yo/90-proof Jim Beam Black being plucked from the Denver area. Keep an eye out for me, would ya? I'd be good for a bottle or two of that.

Today I'm going to buy at least two examples of BIB made by Heaven Hill. I have in mind J.W. Dant and Evan Williams. Have in mind comparing the two.

2 x EWSB 1997, one for me, one for a friend who bought his first house.

While I was searching the Columbus area, I also came across a cache of EWSB 1996. I know it might not be a big deal to most out there, but here in Ohio, my experience is that older bottles are pretty rare. Details on the location and the batch/dates of the '96 available if anyone cares, just PM.

You know, that's something I've never thought of looking for but I'll certainly see if I can run across any. If I do, you shall be the first recipient.

Doubt I'll be buying today as the nearest liquor store open on Sunday is a hundred miles round trip. Nice to know its there if I need it though.

Nothing today - not possible (hooray for blue laws!:skep:). However, yesterday I picked up a 1.75 S-W Weller 107, an ND OT 86-proof, and an early edition Booker's (neck tag with a message from Booker Noe, etc). The last bottle on that list was a nice find in a store I've been into a hundred times.
