ACDetroit
I would like to hear about the Ezra B as well I have been lookin at the 12 and the 15 yr. I did pick up one more Liter of WT 8 yr old from 1995 again. Not sure how this guy is getting it but he keeps telling me he can get more. Oscar said it's a Canadian export bottle and I think he's right. I look at it this way if I don't have to do the bridge, tunnel or ferry I pre pay the duty in the states to avoid the hassle.Tony
ThomasH
I have bottles of both Ezra B 12 and 15. While both are good, I like the 12 better. The 15 has a little too much woodiness for me!Thomas

Martian
Mark and Tony, I just opened and tried the Ezra B 12 yr. I am not very good at describing flavor but it is very flavorful, a little bite, and some body. It's good whiskey. It definitely has the HH flavor profile. I like it much more that OC 12.Steve
ACDetroit
Thanks Thomas and Steve, I am going to grab some 12 tomorrow, I guess I'll leave the 15 for now. It does not go on sale in Michigan so I'll wait. Once in a while stores can have a close out if they do not plan to replace the bottle's if they sit long enough maybe they will. How would you compair it to EC 12? I may have to do a 12 year compair? EC 12, EB 12, OC 12 and Weller 12 maybe a blind taste test. Have my wife set up pours of each with the bottom of the glass labeled. Then try all three and pick the winner IMO. I'll let you know if that goes down.Tony

Does anyone have this same problem where you've been to so many liquor stores you forget where you saw what?!

I like it much more that OC 12.SteveSince you were speaking of the HH profile, did you mean EC 12 (HH product) instead of OC 12 (Buffalo Trace)?Never tried Ezra B 12 but have some of the 15 on hand. It is an excellent bourbon in my opinion. Though just a bit on the woody side, I have read previously on here that it is much better than the 12. I may have to try the 12 to judge for myself. As for purchases today, got a MM with the "Old Style" label plus a couple of OGD BIB in 375ml. Not sure of age of the OGD. Can't recall which distilling and/or bottling DSP indicates the older batches.....not that it matters a whole lot to my tastebuds though!
HipFlask
Today I finally found the BTAC and walked out the proud owner of GTS and Saz 18(My 1st one ever). Hopefully the WLW, ER17 and Handy we'll stay until next time. My wife was with me and I got the raised eyebrow look with just the 2 that I bought. They also had WTAS for $74. I am kinda glad they didn't have PVW 15 yr as it would have been a much tougher decision to make. The Saz is very good and I am following up with a glass of VWFRR as a comparison. Both are very good Straight Rye whiskies. I am quite surprised at how smooth the Saz is. Excellant nose. the itaste is quite differnt too. Definately alot of rye spice here. Not as much heat as the VW. I feel like I went out on a date with VW 13 yr rye and left with her older sister. A little more age and a bit mellower but still a lot of fun. I will have to buy at least one more bottle of this spirit. Tomorrow I am headed to Chicago where some FR SB and SB will be had.

Not that you made a bad decision, but I've had the '07 BTAC and I can't wait to get my hands on the WTAS, especially at that price!

Most definitely! Damn you old lamp!!! I was all set on getting the 12 year Ezra B tomorrow and you had to go bring up the 15 being better! I felt the same exact way. I believe, two other people mentioned that the 12 yo was better and now I hear the 15 yo is it, and it just throws me off. It all comes down to what I see (i.e., 12 or 15) is what I buy.
