2008 Antique Collection Is Out.

I just checked FedEx online and see that my Antique Collection has arrived. I could only afford the three barrel proof bottles this year but am quite excited to try them!

My BTAC bottles also arrived today! :] I haven't opened anything yet but I did get to try the '08 Saz18 last night. It wasn't bad but in my opinion it's not as good as last years, this years was too piney tasting to me with no green apples to balance it out. Not really bad by any means but I guess it didn't hold up in the tank as well as they thought it would.

I ran into the distributor and he was quite impressed with my cart. He also let me know that the 8 bottle BTEC allotment for Colorado is "gone," so don't hold your breath for those, BourbonCO brethren.

Joe if you get a chance try this years Stagg! It is really good this year, I have not had any on a couple days...fighting a cold and I need it gone! Seems Stagg doesn't help in this area so I'll wait.

Still not on shelves in Michigan but it is on it's way.

UPS guy delivered the BTAC today. A 3, 2, 1 six pack of WLW, Handy & ER17, respectively. Based on everyone's comments, I'm passing on the Saz 18 this year. Bevmo Laguna Niguel still has the 2 GTS bottles I left if you're in the area.

Just a quick update for the Michigan Bourbon Hounds, the BTAC has hit the street in good old Michigan as of today. The other 2 stores I spoke to said if they get them they will be in tomorrow.

Did the price go up this year? I'm out of town for a few days, not sure if I'd be able to find any still avaliable when I get back or not but I'm not going to go out of my way if they took a price hike...

Yeah, everything went up $1.00 from last year! So $60.95 is the state min now. Everyone got hit today with their stuff some stores did not even have it on the shelf when I went i asking. You'll be fine Rob it doesn't sell out that quick.

I did go into a store wit a large allocation and the Rep must have told him he was sitting on gold because he's $10 over the state min and he would not move on the price..yet.

I did not tell him the store around the corner has them for State min but no big deal, I'm good on what I have. Grape Vine did not have there order as of today!

I was at a couple of the Binnys in Chicago last weekend. They had their 2007 BTAC for $59.99. One store had a couple of the 2008 bottlings. Another had just got their shipment in, and the manager was putting it in the case when I was there. Their price for the 2008 was $65.99. I might give a call to Everett's and see how much their 2008 is. Their 2007 was the same price as Binny's. Joe

Cool, thanks! A buck is cool. Somewhere I think I recall reading about a more substantial price hike on these. Good to hear GV didn't have 'em in yet. I'll be swinging by next week and see what I can do.

Financially, I can't spring for these this year. But I talked to the manager of Merchant's Warehouse in Dearborn, MI and he said they have 3 of each in stock (that's all they received). Have at 'em! They are selling for State Minimum btw.

My bottles hit the floor @ 67 each. I am friends with the manager, so he knocked a few bucks off. But as far as price gouging goes.. I know for a fact that the place is the cheapest in the state, so I do think if varies by region.

So 69 or 67 a bottle is not too outrageous to me.

New Englanders -- BTAC has hit the NH state liquor stores. So far, not on most shelves (and yet one or more of you guys already cleaned Salem out of Stagg before I could get there! :shocked:)
