chefnash51
I have been looking everywhere in my area and no one has it or thinks they can get it in. Maybe it's still early for CT to get some. All I know is I was lucky to find a bottle of 07 Stagg.. it is glorious. and I want some 08 BTAC!

None of the other offerings yet. havent seen it offered any where else locally, yet.I got my LION share of Stagg... Nowm, looking for Handy and Weller. Anyone know what the best offering is for this year_?_?who knows, may be next year, I might not be able to aford these.Ah...so are you the one that took all the bottles from the Camden store? Stickeng
SLOB, I was at Post Wines in Woodbury, LI and I spoke with Ian Reilly the whiskey specialist there. He said he was receiving Stagg this coming week. Are you going to WhiskeyFest in NYC on Tuesday? I will be going.
onmytrack
drli is right about Bevmo getting their Stagg allocation. 6 bottles at several So Cal locations. I left 2 for anyone in the Laguna Niguel area. Several stores are also getting Eagle Rare 17 and Saz 18. Now the hunt is on for some WLW and Handy.Jim
OscarV
I am agreeing with John Hansell of Malt Advocate. I think this years Weller is quite a bit better than last years. More balace and a much more rounded Bourbon. I will be picking up my share of it tonight, though I do have one open at home the rest just showed up.These thoughts also stand true for the Stagg! I think this years Stagg is much better than the last couple years as well. Although you know how that goes on opinions Joe. There's my $.02Tonyhey dude, you ain't hittin' mine are you? ACDetroit
No Oscar, not your bottles! I have to get them tomorrow from Gus. He's sick as a dog right now and I almost didn't know it was him answering the phone. I will get over there and get them tomorrow before I come home from work.Tony
drli
Last year I was able to also get some W. L. Weller and Sazarac 18y from Bevmo, when I picked up my stock pile of '07 Stagg. This year I will pass on the Eagle Rare and Sazarac 18y, which are still available at Bevmo in my area.In the past I didnt find these quite worth the asking price. I do like Baby Saz more when factoring in the price of his older brother (Although, baby Saz has been harder to find in my area lately).I still hope that BevMo can get me some of the W. L. Weller and Thomas Handy. If they cant, I am still keeping my eyes open else where. And, yes.. lohssanami , I do shop at the Camden store... among others. lohssanami
I like the Camden store...drli.I was there Sunday night, and I asked them if they would be getting Stagg, and two different employees told me it was discontinued there. I should have known better, but I'm sure I'll be able to find a bottle elsewhere.I'll let you know if I find any Weller or Handy in the area!I know of another store that has a couple bottle of PVW 20 if you want em'. onmytrack
lohs - The Bevmo in Colma (So SF) shows on-line that they have 6 of the '08 Stagg in stock. If anyone has a lead on some WLW in So Cal, pass it on. ThanksJim

PhilsFan
I was looking for some Saz 18 and striking out around here...but there's a new place down the street from work...Theater Square...I called and they just got the 2008 BTAC in and they had 6 bottles of Saz 18...that was the good news...the bad news...They wanted 95 dollars a bottle for each!I got WLW for about 55 a piece there's no way I'm paying a $40 markup!-Joe
SBOmarc
Stopped by my local store today in Riverside Ca and the entire collection is on the shelf at the great to be had price of $99.99. That would be for one bottle. Not going to pay it and will look elsewhere. It turns out that I have found my limits.

The BTAC's not in Denver yet, either, if that makes you feel any better. I have an email in to my usual source regarding the arrival date, but I haven't gotten a reply. fishnbowljoe
Was at Binny's in Schaumburg. They had a mix of 2007 and 2008 BTAC. They were receiving a shipment when I was at the St. Charles store. Three bottles of all but GTS IIRC. Was at Everett's in South Beloit Sunday, and Matt said they were supposed to be getting theirs by the end of the week. Joe
kickert
How does the BTAC Weller compare to the WLW12 or some of the VanWinkle wheaters? I am looking to spend a bit more on a high quality bourbon (WL Weller 12 is my current favorite) and I trying to decide where to spend the money. fishnbowljoe
I got the 2007 WLW after talking to a couple of other SB members. I'm glad I did. It is a great bourbon. I thought I was in heaven when I got to try (and then got to buy) some ER 101 while at the KBF. To me the WLW is just as good, if not better. I liked it so much that I bought another bottle the next day. It's not too often that I spend $60 on a bottle of bourbon. I didn't hesitate going back and getting another. I don't know how the 2008 bottling compares with the 2007, but IMHO, you won't be disappointed with the 2007. If you are, I'll gladly get rid of it for you. ACDetroit
I will agree with Joe, you can not go wrong with the WLW! From tasting them both myself I do like the 2008 better than the 2007. If you can get this years release I say do it. If it's last years you still can not go wrong.Hope you enjoy whatever you decide!Tony
PhilsFan
I'm on the same page as Tony & Joe... I've got the '07 Handy & '07 Stagg, and although I enjoy both of those, my favorite BTAC bottle is the '08 WLW.-Joe

It is really good this year, I have not had any on a couple days...fighting a cold and I need it gone! Seems Stagg doesn't help in this area so I'll wait.Still not on shelves in Michigan but it is on it's way.Tony
