Yeah I've been running around a bit lately and could not pass up this Liquor store in a part of town I'd never been today!

Pulled

2 Eagle Rare 101's LA releases

1 Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve 101

and 1 Old Ezra 7 yr old 101

It felt like a Bourbon 101 kinda day!

Cheers!

Tony

Edit he had 2 BHC VSOF 12 year olds, another Old Ezra 7 101 and a few other odd balls but nothing too special.

I was just being facetious ... but I agree. The Wathens is very fine bourbon, my third bottle of it and I'm mightily impressed with the quality. I've been paying only $23 per bottle for it so it's a best value for me as well.

I just want some more VWFRR13!! :smiley_acbt:

Good score, those are keepers and you did a service for the community, now that store has more shelf space for vodka and Canadiens.

Thank you, thank you and it makes less room on my ER 101 shelf. Though after my drive around yesterday and all the stores I ran across I had never seen. I may need a new shelf soon.

Mid $60's each, including tax and shipping to CA. The best price I can find in So Cal for PVW 15 is $65 including tax and I would have to drive to Los Angeles (no shipping from this store). I can't find the VWFRR 13 at any price in So Cal.

Doug comes through for a lot of SB members, I'm sure he would be able to set you up.

Came across Rowan's Creek on sale for $29 today but decided to wait since I grabbed another bottle of OWA 7yr. For the money, and not having had Rowan's before, is it worth adding to the bar? Noah's Creek was also on sale for $39.

I found some new whiskeys last night and an old favorite.

Two OC12 Classic 90 375 and a 375 of Mellow Corn were the pours I hadn't tried yet. The OC12 is very good.

Also picked up an 03 OWA 375 and an 06 OWA liter.

Yesterday at the SB get together at Binny's, I purchased three Binny's Weller 12's, and a 08 BTAC ER17. Plus, through trades I got two ER101 375's and a handle of 91 Old Forester BIB. Not a bad day at all. Joe

Sounds like a great haul Joe...I really wanted to make it yesterday...hopefully things will work out better for me next time. :( I didn't buy anything yesterday...I planned on picking up some bottles at the meet but that didn't work out. I'm heading back to Houston this week so I'm going to try and pick up a bottle while I'm down there! :)

Picked up a bottle of Fighting Cock 103 yesterday in Spokane, one of the only Bourbon's that WA LCB carries that I didn't have.

Came across 3 bottles of OWA 107 w/ age statement, plus the last bottle on the shelf of WLW and Handy, both 08'. All 5 came home with me. The OWA's make a baker's dozen for the bunker which should last me awhile, hopefully! . The store had the new OWA bottles, look nice but NAS. Now just waiting for the 09' BTA line-up to come in.

Scored a Dickel No. 12 today. Almost had an OWA from 03 but the clerk couldn't find a price. No hurry, buddy. It's been on that shelf for 6 years. Surely you want to keep it another 6.

Stopped to see if the '09 BTAC's were in, not yet maybe next week.

But they did get in a n Elijah Craig 18yo, they were out yesterday so I snagged it.

Yesterday, there was a big box sitting on the front porch when I came home. Inside....

3 OWA

2 RHF

2 FRSB

These are all single barrel selections and not standard shelf offerings.

That's interesting, so Sazerac/BT is already using Tom Moore/Barton whiskey?

Picked up two bottles of "old label" OWA last night, as well as two bottles of Old Rip Van Winkle 10/107. Lots of old label OWA in these parts, though I have seen the new label bottles creeping in to the area. Nearly pulled the trigger on the JRPS for $85 but couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a bottle. I'm sure some of you would have pounced on it but that's just too much for me.
