Nice haul, Tom! Are you a bank robber, by chance? That's a lot of expensive whiskey!

One case of VOB BIB. I had to special order it through the Virginia ABC store. It has been a while sense I have sampled this but I remember it being great.

It has been good lately for additions.

  • Four 2009 Staggs and Wellers (a set to Morgan - Pieface in AU and 1 Stagg to AD in Japan)
  • One 2008 Stagg
  • Twelve of the Bourbon Crusade OWA SBs new bottle (1 to Morgan & AD)
  • Six of the Bourbon Crusade RHFs
  • A set of the BTEC
  • Handle (1.75) of WT Od #8 from 1994
  • Handle (1/2 gal) of WT 8 yr from 1977
  • Two 750s of WT 8 yr from 1989
  • Parker Herritage Barrel 129 Proof
  • Liter of VOF BIB 1960-68
  • Two of the Jefferson 17yr

Not a bad couple weeks for the bunker... not so good for the bank account :D

And I thought that I was doing a good job of cutting back my buying now that I'm retired <G>

How and where did you get '09 Stagg and Larue so fast in AZ?

Good job!

You're a good man, Cookie, for hooking up the overseas brothers. I will toast you tonight when I have my first pour of PHC.

A case of 2009 George T. Stagg. Sounds a lot better than saying 3. $59.99 each. Now to find some WLW, it's always harder to get.

Went to the corner to get some beer, and noticed he had the BTAC in. Since I dented my ryes last night, I picked up a Saz 18 and Handy. 2 ETL 90th B'days this week, too.

Today I bought;

seven Wild Turkey 101 8 year decanters from 1978

a Beam 172 month 86 proof decanter from 1968

a Cabin Still Hilbillly decanter (SW juice)

a Kentucky Tavern 8 year straight Captains Decanter (Glenmore)

and a Old Weller Antique 7 yr.

all full and sealed - Opened and taste done of the Turkeys --dark red very tasty and smooth - this juice is older than 8 years.

2 Binnys Weller 12's to add to the other 3 in the bunker. Now I think I can drag one upstairs without feeling too guilty.

Nice haul! You landed some good stuff today. Enjoy those Turkeys and let us know how some of the others taste.

Lots of whiskey that I have been looking for a long time came to me today. 5 * ORVW 10/107 and 6* WTRR 101. The Russell’s reserve is sold out years ago but I found one bottle at an online dealer left for a slightly higher price than when it was available some years ago. He offered to bay all of this whiskey he could find from other online stores in Germany and sell it to me for his price. He clamed that the 6 bottle he came up with were the last in Germany. I don’t believe that but he did a hell of a good job.

Besides that I got one fernet branca and one green chartreuse.

That's very fortunate that you were able to purchase all those RR 101's from that guy. I hope you enjoy them. And five more ORVW's in the bunker should keep you in good whiskey for quite some time. Have you purchased any Weller 12 or OWA recently? The 2009 bottlings that I bought were very good.

I've had to slow the whiskey purchases due to an announcement at work yesterday that in appreciation of our continued dedication to the company, they will only pay us for 4 days a week starting Nov 1. Gotta love that reciprocity of loyalty shown by corporations these days.

That said, I picked up a WT Rye 101 and an Evan Williams black label 1.75. Couldn't pass it up for $18.99 (19.99?).

Yesterday the Whiskey Fairy delivered two stunningly beautiful PVW 15. I'm really excited about trying these and will do so soon.

On the upside I have a strong lead on a better job and another lead on some good side work. This will be a temporary and modest setback.
