I did have WTR and an old miniature of JW Dant 86 proof before dinner yesterday. The Dant was chewy and pungent for an 86 proof but quit a bit on the rough side. It said distilled in Frankfurt & Louisville on the label. I don’t know witch distillery that could be. I did take a vintage 21 rye after dinner and it tasted well as usual.

I opened up one of my old airline bottles last night, namely the 60's Old Crow. Not very good at all. Had a soapy finish. Very odd. I only poured half of it last night. Maybe it will have aired out or something by the time I try it again last night, but it was really bad.

Washed the soap out of my mouth with a Wathen's Single Barrel after that. Very pleasant nightcap.

Bowling night tonight. Went to cheer my team on even though I wasn't bowling. Swore off the JB white and coke tonight. (long story) Had a few beers instead. But...... Gary brought some FC and Binny's Blanton's, and I brought some JTS Brown BIB. So we ended up having a good time and had some good bourbon too. At the end of the night, a guy that bowled with us a couple years ago showed up to say hi. We had to have one more for old time's sake. :grin: Somehow I ended up with a Jack and Coke. :skep: Oh well. What can I say? :lol: Joe

I did have Dickel 8 and 12 before dinner yesterday and Stagg 2009 and ORVW 10/107 after. The thought struck my when I did have the number 8 and 12 after each other witch one I would have preferred if they had been at the same proof. Also I did recall my old dream to be able to taste some uncut/unfiltered Dickel. In that aspect the 2 Tennessee labels are very out of date compared to most of the bourbon distilleries from Kentucky.

Finished a Blanton's Special Reserve yesterday. I had been opened for a few months but it didn't taste that good as i remembered. I think there was to much air in the bottle. Tried the Original also afterwards .That was open the same period of time but that tasted still the same(goooood :lol: ).

Enjoying a pour of OWA 107. It's from an age statement bottle. I know where a few more bottles are. Can't decide if I should go grab them or just hold out for the new label.

Having a very small pour of 2009 GTS...this bourbon is really growing on me...the char and the flavor is amazing. :)

Went out to dinner for a work related thing. Had a 4RSB and a Baby Saz. Seemed kind of odd to not be drinking wheaters but I enjoyed them both.

Had a good friend over and I cracked and 1954-59 Old Forester BIB for his birth year.... very close frind that is a bourbon fan... and then we followed it by a Reid and Emerald Willette... what a great night.... oh, and we started with a Hurcules Double IPA and a Arrogant Bastard... fun time had buy all... :D

Got home from work a bit ago, and I intend to wind down with a pour of Van Winkle Rye (the last of a small sample someone was nice enough to send me). Great stuff! May move on to some of the ^aforementioned^ Willett soon.

I just had an OGD 114 before dinner yesterday, as there will be a lot of drinking today. I will go with my lady partner on a day trip by train to Stockholm for the sole reason to drink good micro beer and eat tasty food.

JPS batch 2 as I filled 50 ml sample bottles for a friends father. I had to sample many of the bottles forgotten in the depths of the cabinet. Trying to put on shrink wrap after 38 bottles should only be attempted without sampling at 1:30 in the morning. My hands should tan up nicely. tim

Last night was a good one. Had a friend over for dinner who's leaving in a few days to be stationed in Hawaii for the Navy. Cooked up a Top Round London Broil, some local clams, fresh beets, and lots of Cushmans Honeybells for dessert. Google those if you don't know what they are. They're in season right now, and they are very much worth buying.

Oh, and the bourbon...He brought me a bottle of Blanton's, which was quickly bunkered as we moved on to the PVW15, GTS '09, Handy '09, and then the showpiece. A freshly opened bottle of ORVW 10/107. MAN THAT STUFF IS OUTSTANDING. Everybody agreed hands down, the ORVW 10/107 was the best of them all.

Had Dr. Entropy over last night for an after work session . . . I had a bunch of things open that he'd never tasted before (which is quite a feat and I was very proud and excited!) . . . we did more of a tasting than drinking session to explore . . . here's what we hit up . . .

We really enjoyed them all, although the Wathen's is not really on par with the others, but we both agreed it was a nice drink. For being a bottom-shelfer in the '80s, that Old Medley drank really nice, too . . . Tim kept calling it "alive" . . . which it very much was, but who knows for how long! :grin:

Wheater Fest 2010 here as well.......Old Rip 10/107, OWA 107 '99 and Weller 12 (Old label). Hmmmm what's next...It's FRIDAY people!!!

I decided to go with Rock Hill Farms...I like this bourbon a lot...the standard isn't as good as the Julio's bottling but it's still good. :)
