Dialing down a bit today, I opened my bottle of the standard Wild Turkey 101 that I picked up in KY last Summer, for a savings of $5.30 over MI price and sipping it neat.

I think I got lucky, this is the smoothest WT101 I think I've ever had.

It's classic Turkey, vanilla, oak, leather, char and some cherry, the alcohol only comes thru in the finish.

How's that Rob? I just couldn't go down to JB white as you suggested yesterday.

WT 12 export and gold folio before dinner and they both tasted good. JDSS with the red current pie for dessert.

I'm going with the Four Roses Barrel Strength Limited Edition Jim Rutledge 40th Anniversary of 2007, neat.

OWA 2002 and OWA 2009 Julios SB ..... very different bourbons. Gotta give the 2002 a big thumbs up. 2009 is good but a different animal.

I had the last out of my WT 12 GF last night before dinner. As it didn’t taste as good as usual I kept away from bourbon the rest of the night.

I cracked open my dusty (1980s) Beam Rye today. Yeah, I know, but it's actually slightly better than the current edition. Nice Saturday afternoon pour. If my tongue doesn't deceive me, I can almost taste some sweet bubblegum flavors here.

Listening to the Dawgs playing at South Carolina, on the radio. Always a tough game for Georgia. Particularly, at Williams-Brice. In no way as a salute to the Gamecocks, but I'm sneaking a small pour of Fighting Cock.

Opened up some of the Very Old Barton 6 year old B.I.B. I got in KY. I can only find the 80 proof locally. Anyway, it's one of the most enjoyable pours I've had in a while.

I find use of the word "sneaking" just a tad strange.

I'm working in my RV today getting ready for an upcoming outing...

Hidden way back on a shelf where I had forgotten it was a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle 10/90. I'm enjoying some right now and find it to be as excellent as I recalled and its always a favorite of mine.

Returned from Philly last evening...actually Phoenixville, and wanted something short and light.... Tried a pour of the Rebel Yell Reserve that was within reach which I have never been impressed with before. It did fill the bill last evening.... no great shakes but a light, "fruity", easy to drink bourbon which I most likely won't buy again once this bottle is gone....
