Passed up a 2007 ER17, 3 bottles of PVW 23, a few bottles of THH, another WTAS, a bottle of Ritt 21, as well as a couple of WT decanters from the 80s.

I did pick up a PVW 20 and an '06 WTKS dark top, among a few others though.

Saw a bottle of Hirsch 25yr. priced at $172. Thought it was a mistake.

What's the provenance of this bourbon?

Willett Single Barrel and Catoctin Rye Whiskey, both for $39. Anyone had either? Was especially interested in the Catoctin from Virginia, but it looked a bit light in color, and I've not read any reviews on it.

I passed on what seems to be the new Sam Houston.

The bottle looks similar to the EH Taylor bottle and also comes in a canister. It did not have an age statement on it and has a blue label.

BTEC "lost barrels" 1993. I'd love to try an "Old Charter 17", but the store's mark-up over an already high price (for 375ml) turned me off. That and the fact that it's not barrel strength.

Was out and about Sunday with my wife. Stopped at a flea market for something different to do. Passed on a half dozen old Beam decanters. Full. I think I could have talked the guy down on 3 or 4 of them. He was asking $28-$38 for them. The ones I was really interested in were a couple of the old car decanters. One was a Deusenberg and the other I'm not sure. They had a higher price tag, ($45) and I was told the owner was firm on that. Oh well, I know where they are. Besides, I may take delivery of another Beam fishing decanter tomorrow. Joe

Passed on Whistlepig and JD Silver Select while in NYC. Maybe one day I can try both.

PVW - 15 @ 95.99 - Damn!

That's a $40+ difference between the lowest and hightest prices I have seen in MD for the spring release. The same store was selling PVW 20 for 96.99 just a few months ago.

Found some private bottlings of Willett 7 yr and 8 yr. I've never had any of this juice so I wasn't sure about spending 79 bucks per bottle.

I have barrel 374 and think it's amazing. I posted about it in a thread about Kentucky Bourbon Distillers. Another guy posted in there as well saying he had 375 and thought it was amazing too so it seems like it would be tough to go wrong with either. And for $32 less you can almost afford to get 1 of each.

I wish Texas allowed retailers to ship to me. :hot:

Picked up a few VW Rye's and left behind a shelf full of Lot B, 10/90, a few 10/107 and quite a few Handy, Staggs and Wellers... strange offerings to be in an out of the way place in rural Md.....

Was at the Party Source last week. I was like a kid in a candy shop and I could have easily gotten out of control. Past up most of aisle 10...the operative word being "most". What a great store.!

Some dusty Rebel Yell double cinnamon 101 proof liqueur from Owensboro, Kentucky. Going through the archives here I note Tim Sousley thought enough of it to have a bottle open on his bar but Chuck passed too. This must have been one of those United Distillers ideas? I may reconsider at least as a novelty item.

Probably worth picking up because they're disappearing and if nothing else to get another profile from Turkey; the 99 was very good IMO.

If the front label with the Turkey on it is the grey/black one it is 2000 or earlier, maybe 01 at the latest - see the WTKS tracking thread - and at this point I'd say any at a decent price are worth grabbing.

Weller 12 - with the raised wheat on the glass

Not sure I know what you're talking about there... I know there's an old charter that has something like a imprint on it, but never heard of a Weller 12 that did.

I also passed up some JD, a wooden double box set consisting of:

70th Anniversary Jack Daniel's Reopening (90 proof)

75th Anniversary Prohibition repeal (90 proof)

Looked cool but for $160 nowhere near worth the price IMO

Weller 7yr for 12.99 750ml. 1.75 was 22.xx. It has dropped in price a few bucks. Fantastic for the price IMO.

I got a call from a store today that is holding me a bottle of the BTEC 1993 rediscovered barrels. I got another call about the 1991 bottling.

I"m not all that interested in these myself, but thought someone around here might be. Send me a PM if interested.

I passed on a raft of overpriced Van Winkle today. Lot B for 70.00, Rye 90.00, 20yo 160.00, 10/90 46.00, 10/107 50.00...

At those prices, they will be there a very long time.
