Brought a bottle of VOB BIB to my friend in CA and we're enjoying some now. Sharing a little VOB love and I think it worked - he's enjoying it quite a bit!

Enjoyed some Eagle Rare 10 while watching the Devils take to the Rangers. Except for OWA, this bottle has had the most pleasant transformation after getting some air time. After my first pour several months back, I wasn't sure I would be replacing it. Now, it is all but a certainty.

Through Macon, got to Savannah early.

Old Taylor mini, State of Maryland, distilled in fall 1950, bottled fall 1955, 100 proof. Deep amber, almost copper in color. Slight burn, three drops of water really opened up the nose. Brown sugar, woody, vanilla, earthy, cinnamon. As I taste it I am reminded of my grandmother's cinnamon toast. Red gots on the finish. Damn this is fine whiskey, only five years in the barrel, and 57 in the bottle, it has held up well.

2 days to go, in Savannah at the B&B. They have wine and hors d'oeuvres from 4:30-6:00. I'll be drinking a mini Old Fitz BiB, spring '67-fall'73. As much as I get pissed about the availability of rare release bottles and then seeing them on eBay, it is a good way to taste old bottlings via minis.

PHC Cognac finish. Just a little pour, but the instant nose was grapes and cognac, then blends with bourbon, such a great smell.

Lot B. I am glad everyone gobbles up the Pappy and leaves this on the shelf for me.

The three boys, I say boys, but they are 22, 21, & almost 20, arrived safely in Savannah today. After a little dinner, they came back to our B&B for a toast before leaving for their more appropriate accommodations on Tybee. We toasted with smallish pours of Redbreast cask.

I then had a nice pour for myself, the next to last celebratory pour, my last as a single man. Pappy 20. In about 15 hours I will be married, and with each passing moment I feel more blessed.

OWA 7, EW 7, VSOF. While I'm definitely a devotee of BT's wheaters, I've found that the best way to appreciate VSOF is to put it up against a standard HH bottle, like EW or EC. It's much more interesting to pick out the HH qualities while noticing the differences made by the wheated mashbill.

Tonight i'm pouring some 09 GTS in honor of Clingman71's big day. Something like Stagg is the perfect slow down and savor pour after a wedding day, or any other hectic time. It something that just makes you stop and appreciate.

Cheer's to you man!! Congrats!:toast:

Today I married my best friend. Tonight she surprised me by taking me up to Hilton Head to the Jazz Corner. Marlena Smalls was the performer, excellent show. She pulled us on stage to dance while singing "At Last".

Between the wedding and leaving for dinner we enjoyed a beautiful pour of a 64/71 Old Weller, the Original 107. In my opinion, this is better than any whiskey on the market today.

Thank you. I appreciate all the wishes we've received from the SB world.

After having several pours of Devil's Cut while watching the game tonight, and now celebrating the Devils erasing the spectre of 18 years ago, by cracking open some Sad 18.

Congrats Clingman. Sounds like quite a day!!!!

You and your bride have been blessed with some great Ga coast weather. One of the prettiest places on earth: The live oaks and Spanish moss speak of natural grace, beauty and elegance. Only caution is watch out for the bugs. They can get narly. Drinking bourbon, or beer, is not much of a repellant: I've tried.

We are enjoying this beautiful weather just south of you: between Savannah and Brunswick in the little village of Shellman Bluff. Gearing up for a day on the boat. Heading out to Blackbeard Island later this morning: can only get there by boat.

Enjoy Savannah and the great food and ambience.

Cheers, Bill.
