It still comes with a sacrifice....

My wine budget has suffered due to my recent bourbon purchases

I bet member A who gave a friendly tip to member B, only to have member B take the tip and immediatley buy all the bottles out from underneath member A and leaving them with none, is also jealous...

That's a pretty sight indeed! Do you know if they're SW juice?

Living in WA and the people recently booting the state out of the Liquor Biz. We have suffered immensely with selection and price. So I ordered 2 handles of 1792 and 2 of VOB bib and 1 each of Buffalo Trace and Bulliet that should hold me through summer anyway.

Not exactly bourbon...stopped by a hole-in-the-wall shop while in San Antonio on business and noticed an Ancient Age with a different-looking label and bought a 200ml on whim. $2.59. Ancient Age Preferred. 20% Kentucky Straight Whiskey / 80% GNS. Might be a candidate for the next GBS pyrotechnic display if anything's left by the time I leave town.

Well stocked liquor stores are hard to come by in mid-Michigan. I found a new store to check out today. I was hoping to find inspiration in there but nothing special jumped out at me. I did walk out of there with my first bottle of Buffalo Trace. I'm looking forward to trying it tonight.

Tucker, that AA Preferred is all over out here. Let us know how it is, cause I hate paying for blended whiskeys that suck....

Doug, I don't think you need to leave much for Jimmy to find things to blow up with it. :D

Found another Elijah Craig 18 today -- a bottle "hand-selected by Rivers Casino," no less. On the off chance that anyone in Chicago's western suburbs is interested in acquiring some, I left two bottles behind at the store. PM me for store info.

Julio's ETL selection... delicious. Tastes like sweet fresh peaches. Also a Julio's OWA micro blend OWA... also excellent...

Picked up two bottles of OGD114. Been reading lots of good reviews on here so I added a couple to the bunker.

IMO one of the best values in bourbon today...... this is one like the WT101 Rye that is just going to disappear from the shelves one day and we will curse ourselves for not buying more.....

SB for Kenwood Liquors. Although I have been told the recipe, I've forgotten.

OBSV -- my first time with this recipe that I can recall. No discernable heat, a slight bit of barrel in the midpalate, spicy, red fruit in the long finish. Hard to imagine there are many bourbons that are better at the $30-ish price point. Full of win, opened over the weekend, will almost certainly be the next to hit recycling.

Moral of the story - no one does it better, more consistently than 4R.
