I was in the Cincinnati area this morning, so I decided to make a run to TPS and pick up the case of TPS own barrel of standard FRSB I had ordered a month ago.

While there I also picked up the new JJB SB, barrel 45. And with all the talk of summer refrigerated bourbon, I jumped on the bandwagon with HH BIB 6yr. I just put it in the frig, so that will be this evenings pour.

I don't know how an independant liquor store had this on their shelf, but I bought an EC18 bottled for Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL barreled in 1990.

Found a bottle of Woodford Reserve Sanoma Cutler buried on the back of a shelf today. They only had one, but its now resting at home on my shelf. Only missing the original masters blend now.

And a little more thread drift, for the Illinois SB beer drinkers, the Woodman's in Kenosha Ws. carrries Oskar Blues which doesn't have Illinois distribution yet.

Actually, it's AAA, ( Ancient Ancient Age) distributed only in Ky. It gathers quite a bit of love here as a great budget bourbon. I think its just ok, and of course, YMMV

Maybe, but I live in KY where it's readily available and I still love the stuff!

A handle of Kahn's OWA barrel#44. Bought it because I picked up a bottle of barrel #9 recently and enjoyed it, but didn't notice that the handle was from a different barrel until I got home. Now I want to know what #44 tastes like!

Those were at the cash only place if I recall. I had plans to get back that way as they were 92's but...recent out of state credit card purchases has blown my cover with the boss enough that I'm laying low for a while

The UPS guy dropped this little gem off yesterday.

It is a bottle of bourbon not blended whiskey.

It states on the shoulder label that it is "A Superlative Blend Of Straight Whiskies".

Here is the back label, you can see the raised letters on the shoulder, it has the Fed Law warning about not refilling this bottle.

Here is the tax stamp. I don't know the age of this bottle but it doesn't have any foreign words on it so it must be the bourbon that they sold in the USA before Seagrams discontinued it here.

I assume it is the fore runner to today's "Yellow Label".
