No.

But please forward location of store ASAP. ;-)

This is my new Holy Grail (Vintage 17). I tried it about a week ago and fell in love. I have never seen it in a store and I've been in plenty in the last 6 months.

The Vintage 17 all disappeared off all the shelves in the Twin Cities over the last 2 months. I thought it was overpriced when it came out, but considering where the market went since then, I guess I can see why people are hoarding it at $65/bottle.

Hirsch 25yo Rye for $233. A deep dark color to the rye made it intriguing but I just wasn't sure what the current going rate is or if it will suit me and didn't want to experiment at that price.

President W.H. Harrison Reserve Bourbon for $114. Chuck wrote about this crap before. It is a sourced whiskey made by LDI in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. They try to make you think that they distill it. I have seen the Governor W.H. Harrison bourbon for $50 and always thought that was a scam. I didn't even know they had a Presidential version until the sales person proudly pointed it out as if the location among their favored bourbons and the high price was going to make me wish that I could buy it. It may be great stuff who knows but not worth $20 much less $114 just because they only bottled 918 bottles.

I just got this mental flash of 918 screaming people jostling in line waving their money in the air.

Passed on a EWSB distilled in 1999 (forgot when it was bottled, I didn't turn the bottle around - just caught my eye since it was older the the others sitting on the shelf).

Passed on all 3 flavors of Chicken Cock today.

Some days we're just not in the mood.

Passed yesterday on a bottle of Handy, as I've never tried a Rye.

You should rectify that situation :) ... maybe not with a Handy, though.

The first time I had a rye was just after I received a Handy :)

Just tried my first straight rye last week - Ritt BIB. It is very good. I agree that a bourbon drinker should experiment with ryes.

I passed on some Jefferson's Presidential Select 18 today for $89.95. I wanted to get some opinions here first. As someone who has never tasted Stitzel-Weller juice, should I go back and get this?

Do you know what the batch # it was? If under 12, I'd head back now. If >12, I'd still pick it up, but heard it's not nearly as good.

It was batch #19. OK. I'll have to think about it then. They had 6 bottles.

I'm currently finishing a bottle of Batch 18 and I have to admit I wasn't blown away by it. Too much wood. Though, that's simply my experience. I have a 2nd bottle that's Batch 8 I've yet to try.
