Passed on more of the Willett RR that I got the other day. Saw some of the same at a different store for $25 more per. M'thinks the poor clerk rang me up wrong on Wednesday. Oopsie. Anywho, these were $52 and $62 for the 8 and 10, respectively.

Passed on an Eagle Rare 10/101 decanter (No.1). "While he said make me an offer," it seemed to be only half full but was in pristine condition with box. Also, the tax strip, while in perfect condition was taped to the decanter on one end, was slightly suspicious.

But I am curious, is it worth going back and making an offer and if so, how much? Probably wouldn't drink it due to possible lead but might be neat to have on the bar.

Very Old Scout was decent when I tasted it last week. It seems to be everywhere right now though.

Passed on some Rebel Yell today that was in a newly shaped bottle. Looked like the same swill that's normally in the $10-$15 range but was marked at $30.99. Has there been any change to the juice or is this store just looking for suckers who think it's something new?post-8011-14489818788596_thumb.jpg

Is this labeled Rebel Reserve by any chance?

Nope. Definitely Rebel Yell and it was actually 31.99. A dollar more than the Eagle Rare 10 yr sitting right next to it.

Did the back label say 'aged 36 months'?

I don't recall but it was definitely only 80 proof. I'll check the back label next time I see it.

Sounds like the same old mouthwash in a new and improved bottle.

How about the new Eagle Rare bottles? Don't know about improved but pretty nice looking.

I passed on a shelf full of 86 proof OGD liters and 750's. Incidentally, the handles next to them were the new 80 proof expression. One must look *very* carefully at the neck tag to see the difference between the stylized 6 and 0 in the proof statement. Sneaky bastards those Beam folks are.

I also passed on NEW Jacob's Ghost and some flavored bourbon and Canadian stuff.

Temporarily passed up some 139.4 proof 2012 PHC. Will be buying two more on Friday. It is much better than the first batch of the 2012 version. It actually has a finish.

Scott did you notice the prices on those handles?

In my county, OGD is 7.25/12.95/20.25/28.95 for .375/.750/1.0/1.75 including taxes.

Yes, the Liter is a bad deal compared to the other three not counting the proof difference in the family size.

Passed on the 2012 versions of:

3 x Saz 18

3 x ER 17

2 X Handy

All at $69.99

I already have an open bottle of each of the 2011 releases and I have neither the space nor funds to be bunkering. Nice to see some reasonable prices for all those though. I hadn't seen anything less than $89.99 for any of the 2012 stuff anywhere in the Twin Cities.

I.W. Harper 15 Year for $80. I was very excited to see it until I turned the bottle and saw the price tag.

THH for $99.99 and a Saz for $69.99. I suppose I was looking at a "baby Saz". Both too salty for me when Ritt BIB is $20.

Whoa, a baby Saz was $69?! Or you passed on a Saz 18 at that price?
