Tony Santana
Eagle Rare 10 yr. The combo of taste/price = value makes it my go-to pour. After that, I don't have a rotation. My "problem" (if you can call it that) is that I'm relatively new to bourbon, at least as a hobby/obsession. So I've been enthusiastically experimenting/collecting for the last half year. Which leads to dilemmas. I'll have a couple pours of ETL. mmmm, delicious. But I need to try a wheater or two. Oh yeah, should I drink OGD114 neat, with a splash of water or an ice cube? That Rowan's Creek bottle is starting to look lonely, is it really as good as I remembered? And I need to check out that Smooth Ambler VOS I dropped some hard-earned cash on. Wait, am I giving the Wild Turkey brand a fair shake?Who has the time for a rotation?

I have figured out a couple of things that I do like and have started to bunker a bit:Elijah Craig 12/BSRussel's Reserve 10/SBWeller 12Wild turkey Rare BreedI have noticed I like to buy barrel proof (or close) and that i like to choose my own water cut. Elijah Craig 12 cut to 35% is not as good as Elijah Craig BS cut to 35%. Just bought a bottle of booker's today, have only had it in hotel bars so far. Experiment with how you like to drink it, ice water, neat. Nobody is an expert to your taste except you. There is no wrong, or right way...but the most important thing is, enjoy the journey. Quantum
ETLFRSBOF SignatureSB Blend/OWARittenhouse 100 I like to have a very wide variety to choose from (I have not had less than 40 bottles open since I was in college), but I recently realized that at any point I would be completely satified by one of the first three on my list. I usually have better versions of all three of those, but I would never be dissatified if those were the only three I had.
393foureyedfox
i rarely have more than a few open. i just dont want 100 bottles of stuff lying around.I currently have about 5, but the 4RSiB i dont care for and am giving to a friend who loves it, and the ECBP i was dying for and learned promptly that i find it horrid, is going to the gazebo for people who actually do like it. and i just polished off a HH BIB gold last night, so i am down to just two open again.......a HH BIB white and a KC120, and im just fine with that. Although i do expect to try some new stuff on saturday at the gazebo and pick up a few replacements to try at home.
Chuckles
RIT BIBOGD 114OWA or Weller 12Baker'sLot BBOTMNotes: I can count to five, but that last one is so variable, depending on what Joe tells me to try this month. And the Lot B won't always be ALWAYS--a few years ago I stumbled into a store with a fresh load of Lot B, brought one home and it curled my toes, so went back and stocked up. When I kill one, I open another, but stock is getting low. Lately Larceny has supplanted the Wellers because of those great rebates. I hope the marketing guys don't study this thread too closely--those at the top of my list are on so many others' that I fear some genius might decide they are underpriced.
