flahute
OFBB'13. The good BB is back! After the last two pours being really bitter on the finish, my palate must be doing something different tonight because the excellent pour I remember from a month ago is back. smknjoe
Stagg Jr. The more I have, the more I like it. Think I finally found the right amount of water to add. Too bad I was just winging it and don't know exactly how much it was.Just keep adding a little until it gets to where you enjoy it. I use the cap from my 1 liter bottles of Ozarka to measure the amount. After some practice you'll be able to eye-ball it. I drink very few barrel proofers that are over 115 proof at full strength. corpse_welder
no bourbon for me tonight. I have a major head cold/sore throat and I keep a bottle of honey whiskey strictly for these occasions. So I'll be having that tonight and hope tomorrow night goes better

Conquistador
Normally, each night I'll have 1.5 ounces of bourbon when I get home from work, usually something that I can find relatively easily here in So Cal (like EWSB, MM, or BT). Today was a really rough day at the office, so I ended up reaching for my stash that I picked up on my last trip to Kentucky, which is near impossible to find out here.2 ounces of Abraham Bowman SB (TPS store selection), followed by 2 ounces of AAA 10 Year, and now I'm working on 2 ounces of VOB BIB to finish off the evening before heading off to bed. Finally back in the right frame of mind.
TVojtko
The last pour from a bottle of OGD BIB.Trying to make room on the shelf for some new stuff, so a hefty pour of Makers 46 from the last 1/4 of a bottle is up next.

Man this is just solid, chewy bourbon. And while it is not my favorite pour, it is probably the best value in all of bourbonland...IMHO Edited January 9, 2014 by Phil T

Harry in WashDC
Even though my avatar is a picture of OWA, I usually reach for the standard rye recipes more often than not. I don't judge or discriminate due to mashbill or proof. It's all about what tastes good (to me.)Thank you, SmknJoe, for setting me straight. Still, your avatar poked me enough to try OWA & to actively seek out some other wheats. I would have missed some good stuff w/o the poke.
MyOldKyDram
Cooking dinner, in my own house (!) having some age stated WSR before diving into some beer. It's a very pleasant, easy sipper. Thankful for the night.
Cigar Dan
Sipping on some Abraham Bowman Last Millennium while grilling steaks for the family. We will have wine with dinner, but I foresee some Saz 18 in my future later this evening.
smokinjoe
Is it Friday, yet? Good gosh this has been a week...sittin' out back under the propane heater (even though this 42 degrees is feeling like 72 after the temps earlier this week) with a nice pour of Maker's and a Rocky Patel Vintage 1990, and looking forward to getting through mañana. fishnbowljoe
I attended our monthly bowling team get together last night. Munchies, beer, bourbon, cigars, and especially good friends. We tasted quite a few "specialty" beers, all of which were rather good. Maybe Gary can remember what some of them were, 'cause I can't. Our bourbon selections were pretty darned good too. Weller 12, Vosgar's Stagg Jr./BT blend, along with a small sample of HHSS. We didn't even get to the 6 yr VOB BIB, or HH 6 yr BIB. Maybe next month. Can't wait till February 5th.
