I really like this one...what did you think? reminds me of Dark Horse Double Crooked Tree...
That is a pretty good call with almost a Black IPA twist like from Green Flash.

I am almost on vacation, so I have declared an end to my wife's imposed diet.

Currently splitting some New Glarus Apple Ale with my wife (it's decent, but prefer their other fruit beers) and have already put back a few Lakefront Riverwest Steins (local brewery). The beer gods are having mercy upon me tonight. :)

Out and about in Lex, having a Barrel Aged Wee Heavy at Blue Stallion. Good caramel and barrel influence, but lacking in big warmth and the mouthfeel that I expect.

Trader Joe's 2012 Vintage Ale (Unibroue)

We opened a 2011 recently. Damn tasty. Unfortunately I rarely crave a Belgian style spiced ale so I won't open one myself unless guests are around.

Sampled a bit more Virtue the mitten BBN brl aged cider today. Love that stuff. Tart, slightly sour and f'n drinkable. A bit pricy IMO.

Just popped open a Schlafly AIPA - pretty darn good beer. Nice hoppy taste without hiding the ABV. Good way to start the evening off.

Double Crooked Tree is finally bak and I brought some home. As good as it is, it can't ease the pain of this UK meltdown I'm currently watching.

I can't find any here in SE MI. I've been looking.

Firestone Double Jack DIPA. Lots of grapefruit, very tasty

Man I love Double Jack. When I can get one that's only a week or two old, it's one of my favorite beers. Can't really go wrong with Firestone-Walker.

Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer. Not bad but wrong time of the year for this. It's a summer sipper. Very "zingy"

Heavy Seas Siren Noire, an Imp Stout brewed w chocolate and aged in bourbon barrels. So. Feckin. Fine. And perfect for the impending ice storm coming our way.

Much more weather appropriate.

Picked up some Mission Shipwrecked double IPA. It's sweeter than I usually prefer an IPA to be but still balanced and very nice. A very tasty brew!

Deschutes hop Henge. The first of their bombers to hit KY. Tasty but not ground breaking.

Yup. Id rather have (and hope we get) the Fresh Squeezed and/or Chasin Freshies.

Green Bush-Brother Benjamin,Stochasticity Project-Stone and and Aracadia Barrel Aged Shipwreck Porter which I thoroughly enjoyed despite a pretty ridiculous price point!

You're not kidding about that Shipwreck Porter being overpriced. A shop near me received 8 cases of it back when it was released. They still have 3 or 4 cases. $9 is pricey for a 22 oz. much less a 12.

Tonight it's going to be a SbS of Prairie coffee noir and vanilla noir

On Sunday we tried these two, and then finished with Southern Tiere Creme Brulee after dinner.

I don't drink a lot of beer anymore, but I always love a good barrel aged stout. Or really any stout.
