Will this be an extremely allocated rare bottle? I'd love to get one!

It will certainly be "limited" in number, but I'm guessing there should be enough available for those who really want one. Though, I'm not sure that would include Taiwan. ;) So, have one of your stateside homies pick one up for you! :D

Having taken a year off on Parkers. Tried PoH, very nice whiskey, but just couldn't justify the price after tasting. Count me as back in for this release. Should be very interesting.

Looking forward to this as well. Since I just got baptized to bourbon about this time a year ago I really enjoyed the PHC7 but at $90 I wouldn't buy another one.

And yes if this one is $100 I'll give it a try.

Got to admit, it appeals to me and I'm not moved by much. What's equally interesting is if they have some 13s it stands to reason they also have some 10s, 11s, and 12s. All aged in new charred barrels, we live in exciting times.

It will be a real curiosity for sure. The Mastersons 100% straight wheat whiskey was aged 12 years (in presumably new charred oak since it is labeled straight) and it remains a very light and inoffensive but not terribly complex whiskey to me. Obviously the Bernheim is a different animal with lots of corn in the mashbill and aged in a warmer climate so it does sound like it will be more like what I had hoped the Mastersons might be.

And if as noted they do have a plethora of older barrels lying about it will be interesting to see how they use those. Will they help in the blending of the future age stated 7yo or will they show up again somewhere as a separate bottling? Although there is no guarantee I suppose that they have a lot of older barrels between 7 and 12yo available. I suppose they could have identified a group of barrels to be aged longer as a possible PHC option and the rest of the barrels have been getting dumped at closer to 7yo in the regular Bernheim Wheat Whiskey.

Sort of seems like they're running out of ideas, since they just did a 10-year-old wheater in 2010. They're overdue for a rye, or even a wheat whiskey. What about a 15-year-old corn whiskey, aged in used barrels? Seems like they have other possibilities, to be going back to this so soon.

That said, I expect I'll love it.

As well, I hope they're bringing out what's really tasty and interesting. Don't want them bringing something out just because someone thinks it's 'due'.

If it is to be their wheated .. they must have some excellent barrels they are aware of. We tasted three barrels they were offering a while back and didn't find one we felt was good enough to bottle for the folks back home. I can't imagine that they would offer anything up that was not in keeping with the past ... and that's stellar!

They had both the PHC and the standard release on the tasting table in NO recently. First, full disclosure; I'm not a fanboi for wheated whiskey. Thought both were good but not anything exceptional. Pretty sure both will punch all the right buttons for fans of wheated whiskey. If you like 'em big get your hands on a PHC. If more approachable is your preference you will probably really like the wheat whiskey.

I'm not so hot for Bernheim myself, but I want to try it at a higher proof (and have faith in Parker's selections), so I'm pretty much obligated to try a PHC here.

Still, I'm surprised there haven't been any sightings in stores yet.
