Yes, HH is now hip to the fact that people will buy the hell out of the stuff even if they raise the cost to retailers by 30-50%.

Don't think that HH or any other distillery are not aware of how their own market has been changing over the last few years...

...but HH hasn't raised the price. It's just the retailers. And the retailers continue to do it because people continue to buy it.

Saw a shelf full of Four Roses Secretariat, $99.99 a bottle. A guy walked in behind me and bought 4 bottles. Seems like a high premium for a commemorative bottle.

Saw a rumor on Twitter that the price of EC12 may go up soon. Not sure if there's any truth to that.

Okay, but that has nothing to do with stores currently charging double retail.

True, that's just good old-fashioned price gouging.

I see EC12 in every store that has the most basic bourbon selection. The price is all over the place. It goes from low to high $20s. It doesn't seem like something that flies off the shelf quickly.

Not sure about 3 of them, but it's a quality pour for $30 or about. I had just a sample at a LQ recently and could drink it all day. It's HH juice; pour it next to an EC12 blind and see which one you like better.

Thanks all for the information on Ezra B. It's $40 here, so I think I will leave it on the shelf for others. The same store has EC12, 4RSmB, and EWSB 04 (their selection) all for $28-30.

I'm going to say with 100% confidence that the only that is certain is that you won't see any price decreases anytime soon from any distiller or retailer.

Ezra Brooks 12 @ $40. A ton of Old Whiskey River @ $30. A lot of Stagg Jr. in the $60 range.

J.R. Ewing reserve, give me a break.

Guess it's expanded out of TX.

The Facebook flippers will be disappointed.

Saw CEHT SB had been replenished at a couple of stores today.

Tempted to grab another, but passed.

The other day I spotted a solo ECBP on the shelf but I couldn't get to it since a guy was standing in the way. Fortunately, he grabbed a bottle of J.R. Ewing. Once he moved out of the way I grabbed the ECBP. I am glad he wanted to give it a try.

That would make a great advertisement. "J.R. Ewing, so others don't buy the good stuff!"

It makes you wonder who their target customer is. I doubt anyone under ~35 even knows who the Ewing character is.

Private single barrel selection of Jefferson's Reserve. I actually think JR is tasty stuff, just not willing to drop $60 without an age statement or knowing the source.

There are new episodes of the reboot of Dallas currently on TNT or other such network.

Passed up Stagg Jr at $90, I don't think so being it is all over the place at $49.

Just about as bad is John Wayne bourbon being pushed by his son.

Yes, quite disrespectful, like the Sinatra kids teaming up with Jack Daniels.

At least a bottle of Sinatra costs about the same as seeing his act in person, back in the day. ;)

Some Orphan Barrels and French/Hungarian oak High West bottles from Binny's. Any experience on the latter?

Is it the price or not limited, that make it a rip off? "Everyone else" didn't buy any bourbon for years too ;).
