johnnybogey
Bookers 2015-1 at 61. It's deceiving. Had the dark brown box that the 25th came in. Made me do a double take. Passed on a bunch of store selections as well.HAHHAHA. Similar thing happened to me yesterday. I saw a bookers box way way up on the top shelf, practically ceiling level. What got my attention was the fact that it had the little string attached to the plastic front cover which goes around the nail on the box. I thought, wait a minute, the regular bookers didn't have the string.Well, turns out they do. so deceiving.

tanstaafl2
Some might consider that collectible, but IMO the Dickel was a junior member of the BHC (well behind the OF12, Weller Centennial and OC). The current Barrel Select is tastier for less $.
Tucker
Well, there you go! Although I still enjoyed it and would probably buy it at that price.Who am I kidding, I would have snatched it without second thought.
GaryT
Who am I kidding, I would have snatched it without second thought. I don't think I've ever tried that member of the BHC, but yeah - I would have insta-bought it

393foureyedfox
MMCS . . . $31.99Have not tried it yet. Hmmm...i'd love to try it as well, but the price gets me. thats nearly $65 for a 750. I think it was marketing genius of them though to offer a 375 at $32 instead of a 750 at $65. Its the same cost/ml, but it seems more tolerable the way they did it. DogfaceSoldier
Passed on the AH Hirsch Humidor set for a small $1400 in Kentucky. I had a glass of this a while back and was completely underwhelmed at the bourbon which made for an easy pass.

Its the same cost/ml, but it seems more tolerable the way they did it.Compared to OWA's price, it is extremely ridiculous. It actually works for me, since I have no interest in buying an entire 750 of MMCS just to try it. So if it was on the shelves here (which it's not anymore), I'd have no issues buying one to try. $30-$35 is cheap enough for a once in a lifetime curiosity purchase. They also had an old bottle of wild turkey liquer. Bottle shape is similar to the Willett pot still reserve. Looked cool from a dusty standpoint but at the end of the day, it's a liquer. johnnybogey
Did it look like this?If so, sounds like you might want to rethink that one. Or feel free to send it to me for proper disposal! :cool:yes. That was it. Would you guys even consider drinking it if you bought it or would it be strictly for the dusty showcase?might have to reconsider.

I'm with Bruce, sometimes buying outpaces drinking, but when it comes to dusty bottles, drink. Opportunities to taste the past like that don't come along often. DonutsNBourbon
I currently only buy with the intention of drinking it! Eventually... I confess my buying has out paced my drinking for a while now although I do have a couple hundred open bottles already. But my intent is to get to them all some day!haha... I feel you on that. I'm buying more than I can "safely" drink for quite some time
johnnybogey
Thanks guys. Here's a thought. I found another liquor store that actually has the bourbon heritage collection wooden rack. Maybe i can start building a set. With regards to buying outpacing drinking, I hear you. Unfortunately, I am in the honeymoon phase of Bourbon, as such, I've amassed a ton of bottles since January to the point I am running out of hiding places in my basement.Since I live in the burbs, all my friends are still in the city so tough for them to come over and enjoy. Plus, add the fact that I have my life insurance medical coming up next month so wife orders are to take it easy.If any of you guys are ever in NY, give me a holler. Poker and Bourbon at my place. Edited March 13, 2015 by johnnybogey
