Nillion
Anyone know how those finished Rendezvous Ryes are? A local place has one that's Manhattan finished and another with a Campfire finish. I'm intrigued.

petrel800
Good question. I would like to know too. There maybe some answers in the rye forum .I've had a Double Rye in a bourbon cask selection, it's solid, the bourbon cask rounded out some of the young ness of the 2 year old stuff, but it wasn't overly complex. Now I would be all over the Manhattan one just for its uniqueness, and the campfire one would be fun to try. HW doesn't put out bad stuff, so I'd say go for it, be a pioneer. (See what I did there, West, Pioneer, . . .)

Us East Side Perimeter guys have to stick together, it costs a lot to UBER over to Cobb Co. On a side note, weren't you the guy in the Beam Gift Shop baiting me to buy that fancy $200 Distillers whatever bottle? I found your candy . . . if I make it to Bill's thing I'll bring it. GaryT
Checking out some spots in west Georgia, leaving behind some Bookers 2014-6 (NOT 2013; I think this is the first 2014 I've run across), WFE rye 2yr, EC21, EC23, and a Barterhouse (which almost came home with me just for the price - $76!). Was hoping to run across some recent dusties (maybe a WTR101?) but no luck.
Paddy
Passed on Forgiven at Kroger tonight at about 10 pm. To top that, it was on sale! So, basically it's been there all of the busy weekend while the BT 750's, Fireball, TN Honey, and other assorted standards have moved by the case(s) and/or sold out. I think that's pretty remarkable. PaulO
I was in Bloomington yesterday, so I stopped at their largest liquor store. In the past I have bought all sorts of whiskies there. Yesterday none of the stuff I was looking for was seen. I turned down a sample of Tincup. I heard another guy say to the clerk "it wasn't everything he said, but maybe ok as a mixer". They had a big display of about four different single barrels that they had selected. The problem was they selected brands that aren't very interesting too me, and the prices were too high. Luckily, I found my favorite brand of Tequila on sale. So it wasn't a waste of time. I just have to say there a couple of small chains around Indy that have made a much better impression on me recently.

I probably would not be able to let the Manhattan finished bottle stay on the shelf. Have heard rumors of a bottle finished in a "vermouth" cask as well that I would find interesting to try.
