Let me guess... SFWTC?

Sad when stores start gouging...

I was in SF for work about two years ago and picked up a bottle of BTAC for suggested retail price from them...

Ding ding ding. I'm really disappointed that they chose to mark the limited stuff up so much. I wouldn't be so upset if they did 20-50% markup instead of 2-3X CA retail price. I try to spend money there every time I go in since it's near my house. They just lost some of my business

There still are a handful of places that will sell BTAC at retail but it is sad that most will gouge due to the frenzied demand. I can't even blame them for hiking up the price. If the product moves at a higher cost, any smart business is going to think about Jerry McGuire. Not that I think $500+ 2014 BTACs will really sell quickly.

I typically shop for their store picks but all my general buys are from another spot. I was hoping to get a BTAC bottle from them this year but after being offered a 2013 THH early in the year for $499 I had a bad feeling. Like you, and probably many others, paying a 20-50% mark up would've been fine. But after seeing almost everything at 100% or more, I was a bit sad.

Not bourbon but the new Boss Hog @ $199 and a Ca craft bourbon (Razor's Edge or was it Straight edge?) @ $59.

WP Boss Hog @$195, WFE 7yr Rye @$85 (inches away from SA 8yr cask strength Rye at $55....) and Garrison Bros @$90. Actually surprised to see the Garrison in KY.

Passed on some store select Four Roses, Parkers Heritage POH ($115), and A Midwinters Night Dram ($80).

I think we passed on the same stuff at the same place.

More Stagg Jr. For some reason I just can't get up for it. I have one open and one in the bunker so I'll just pick it up as I need it.

Saw Jeffers Creek for the first time in Indy today. $17.99. Not nearly curious enough to try this one. I guess this store was trying to make sure to be a good Sazerac customer this time of year.

Passed in some bc i was not sure if they were old and good or new and deceiving. Shelf full of old forrester in a bottle i have never seen. Tan paper label with aged 4yrs on the back. Also old fitzgerald with a gold label that said prime bourbon or something to that effect. Both cheap and plentiful.

That Old Fitz is the bottom of the HH wheated line. IMO stay away. It is dreadful neat. Not even good as a mixer due to the weak proof. Wheated bourbon needs age or proof or both to shine. This has neither age nor proof. And the only thing shiny is the bottle.
