How big is your bunker ?

After sailing around the bourbon world, if you will, I've settled in on what I like so I tend to bunker multiples of a few brands. I have 18 opened and 47 in reserve, but "only" 30 different labels. But of those 65 total bottles, 23 come from just 4 labels.

Even though it's big enough, it never seems like it's enough, (probably due to the WN disease that's been going around) and I'm always adding to it. Thought I had it contained until yesterday when I stepped into my local LS, still did pretty good.... only left with 3 in hand.

Just checked my spread sheet. 147 open and 514 sealed in closet. Includes all whiskies, but not non-whiskey spirits.

My 'bunker' isn't an; "it"... it's a; "them". I mean to say my back-stock is stored in a couple of wide closets, and on a free-standing 4-shelf shelf unit, in addition to the open stuff, which is on a kind of dresser with a set of three side/corner shelves on either side, added to the dresser surface. If I had the skills to shoot a digital pic and download it I'd do that to explain. Anyway, all added; it's about; Yie by Yie; but with no 'Big G' on it anywhere.... about 250-bottles plus or minus.

I have no idea. I'm way overdue for an inventory, both booze and wine. It doesn't help that the booze is stored in five different places and the wine in four.

I estimate about 60 bottles of bourbon and rye, with about 10 open.

Bourbon alone is about 155 different brands but I have no idea how many bottles when you count ones I have multiples of mostly because I have never gotten around to counting them. Probably about two thirds are open.

If you add "other whiskies" I am not really sure. An additional 250 or so brands plus duplicates among other American whiskey (including about 50 ryes), Irish, Scottish and various international whiskies.

For spirits as a whole I think "too many" may be the best answer. And because I apparently don't have enough I have another 10 or so en route even now!

Man.. all I know is that some of guys out there...well can you say ...expendable income? Love to have that many bottles, but my salary does not allow for it... you know starving artist and all that, or should I say thirsty artist?

There ain't no right or wrong C. It's all good whether your bunker is 6 bottles, 60 bottles, or 600 bottles. Different strokes…… Enjoy what you have.

I have a little over 50 bottles in my bunker. I just got some new shelving last weekend so I pulled most of my bottles out to snap this picture. They all went back in boxes and on the bottom shelf when I was done. Today's project is organizing my craft beer.
