I keep a spreadsheet and my bunker is only 65 bottles, including opened bottles. Edited for exact number. Didn't have my spreadsheet in front of me so referenced my earlier post in this thread. :)

Spreadsheet on phone would come in handy. Many times I've been shelf surfing and found something I've not tried before, only to take it home and find I've already got one. This often ends up either two unopened or two sampled and found unremarkable.

I don't know how some of y'all get to 150+, that's a huge amount of storage to have available....not an option in spendy ass LA area real estate math.

Bunker - 40ish unopened, mostly comprised of ND OGD, WT Old No 8, and various dusties from around LA county....and a couple BTAC/Pappy thrown in

Open - 25 or so, 50/50 split between bourbon and rye

I wish I had more 4R bunkered :(

I know of a number of members here that use a spreadsheet to keep track of what they have. I can only surmise that you're referring to me since I'm the only member here that's mentioned a spreadsheet in this thread. I can't help but get the feeling you're calling me out on this for some reason. Why is that Doug? FWIW, my bunker, while not as large as a lot of members, is large enough that I use a spreadsheet to keep track of it. That's it plain and simple. That, and I have CRS disease. (Can't Remember Shit) :slappin: What's your excuse for the odd things that you do?

nope, joe, not "aimed' at you, or anyone in particular. I had in mind the 'show us your bunker' thread participants when I wrote that.....you know, the guys with more bottles on hand than even a raging alcoholic could consume in a lifetime if they started drinking at a legal minimum age. If you want to read into it that I am 'aiming' at you, that's your decision. Besides, I make no excuses for 'the odd things I do', I am who I am

In regards as to my how big my bunker is, my favorite bourbon mule Vosgar, dropped off a bottle for me yesterday. :woohoo:So, I had to update my spreadsheet and add one to my total.

Crap. I almost forgot I finished one too. :frown: Guess I have to update the update on my spreadsheet, and subtract one now. It's all a wash. I have the same total as before. Never mind. :skep:

Haven't responded to this thread yet because.......I have no idea how big my bunker is. It's spread out. I have a work bunker. A secret shelf stash bunker. A secret basement base cabinet stash bunker (x 2). And a basement upper cabinet stash that's not a secret. It would be too difficult to count and keep track so I'm blissfully ignorant. Probably better that way.

My bunker's like about yea big. I keep a spreadsheet because I've moved twice in the last few years and will move again. Gotta keep the stash mobile otherwise you become a target for Omar.

Oh dang......who's Omar? Should I be worried?

I should probably use a spreadsheet...but then I'd have to maintain it...

That, and I have CRS disease. (Can't Remember Shit) :slappin:

A widespread malady. FYI, it gets worse with age.

And yes, that's why I should have a spreadsheet. The estimate I posted the other day could be way off.

What's your excuse for the odd things that you do?

Drugs and alcohol.

I've tried to compile a spreadsheet at least a dozen times, but I always get bored/overwhelmed with it and just sit down and have a drink.

Excel can do that to you.

i think just over 100 bottles at this point. 30-35 open.

does anyone here use cellartracker to keep track of your bottles? i initially started using it for our wine collection, but realized you could also do spirits as well.

getting everything in the first time can take a bit of time (no more than the initial spreadsheet i suppose) but after that maintaining it is quite easy

Littlesmokinjoe hacked into the W.O.P.R. and inputed my bottle data in it so I could keep track of my extensive bunker. Biggest drawback is that every time I pull a bottle to open, W.O.P.R. gets confused and we end up at DEFCON 1... :D

Truly a man with an excellent outlook on life! I knew what I had a couple months ago but got tired of trying to keep up with it.

Just so! Been there, done that so now I keep a list and have it accessible on my phone in the event of a shopping emergency!

I use it also since I started with my wine. I have one dilemma though, when do you remove it from the cellar? When you open it or finish the bottle? For some reason I find it more difficult to maintain than my wine.

I don't show off anything either. You wouldn't know I have any in the house at all. I love the smile I get when someone is over and opens the cabinet.

All of my 300 bottles are out of sight in cabinets

How big in my bunker? 8'x3'x18" holding about 140 bottles.

I have 3 workbenches in my basement. One is enclosed and the doors are a bit difficult to open. Works great for a bunker.

Of bourbon/whiskey, around 10 bottles open and 30 on deck. Of everything, about 50 bottles open and 140 on deck/batter's circle.

yeah, I think that's a more difficult problem with liquor then with wine. I 'remove' it once the bottle is empty and i'm taking it out to recycle. helps me remember
