GaryT
Great news - stopping in Marietta shaves 2 hours off! And you would be entering what I like to call "hockey hell", as we can boast to have lost an NHL team not once, but twice. :hot: I would need more than just a couple days notice. https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/Alberta/Georgia,+United+States/@41.6898543,-117.4486773,4z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x5309b282a82419b5:0xb0a9479a409b8e9e!2m2!1d-116.5765035!2d53.9332706!1m5!1m1!1s0x88f136c51d5f8157:0x6684bc10ec4f10e7!2m2!1d-82.9000751!2d32.1656221?hl=en just sayin
Restaurant man
I could get by with a good cross section of four roses recipes and OWA. I've been thinning the herd on other stuff. Prolly 40 open and over maybe we'll over 200 closed. Ive kinda been around the world and settled with those two for the most part.
bmajazz
Man.. all I know is that some of guys out there...well can you say ...expendable income? Love to have that many bottles, but my salary does not allow for it... you know starving artist and all that, or should I say thirsty artist? There are ways... to do it on a budget. fishnbowljoe
Yesterday, I finally took some time to clean and straighten up my room/bunker. Whenever I do this, I always update my inventory spreadsheet. Even though I try to add or subtract things from my spreadsheet as I buy or finish them, for some strange reason there always seems to be at least one or two items that I've missed. FWIW, this was true yesterday. Below is a updated list of my "bunker". Over all total: 126 bottles Open- 13 bottles Bunkered-113 bottles My open category is pretty much all bourbon, but does include a couple of Canadians (for when my son comes over and wants a pour), and a Jack Daniels handle. (for guys I used to bowl with) My bunker. Again, pretty much all bourbons, with a few exceptions. The exceptions are: Two Canadians, and a bottle of Ozark Distillery Blackberry Moonshine that my brother in law brought back for me from a trip to Branson Missouri. :skep: Yeah I know. I was gracious in accepting his gift. As discussed in another thread here, it's the thought that counts. Here's a slightly more detailed breakdown of what I have. Gift sets: Two Old Forester Prohibition sets, and a BHC mini set. 200's and 375's: 13 bottles. This is down from around 40 or so from a couple of years ago. Some were finished, and some were gifted. 1.75's: 3 bottles. Wheater's: 60 bottles. BIB's/100 proofers: 27 bottles ** A side note here. I have 3 bottles of Old Fitz BIB that fall into both the wheater and BIB category. Dusties: 18 bottles, give or take a couple. I haven't included anything that I'd call 'recent' additions to the dusty category, or one offs/specialty bottlings like the BTAC, etc… Most bottles from one distillery: Buffalo Trace-63 bottles. Mostly a whole bunch of Weller's, and some ETL's and BT's. What can I say? As I noted in another thread, I've squirreled away 26 bottles in storage. They're some of my all time favorites, one off's, and a couple of sentimental value. So, my cabinet/bunker is for the most part now at a very manageable 100 bottles. Much better than the 200 + bottles I had just a few short years ago. :skep: Everything I have now will either be consumed or shared with others at some point. If by some chance I "go to the big distillery in the sky" before my bunker is depleted, my wife knows what to do. Cheers! Joe
GerryM
Since I also have a small wine cellar of about 500 bottles I'm forced to limit my bunker size to 50-60 bottles. With that limit I restrict it to my stock of fall releases, other limited items and a half dozen or so favorites I want to ensure not running out of like W12, OWA, ETL, ER10, FRBP's, etc

tylermke
I've probably got 125+ bottles sealed and in the bunker. Another 30ish open. I keep buying faster than I can drink.
Kalessin
Probably 50-60 bottles. I don't have much that stays unopened, except for my backups of the Four Roses SmBLE and 1BLE releases that I'm saving for future momentous occasions.
gburger
over 200, all mostly opened at one time or another. except a few BTAC bottles
Golzee
Currently I have 5 bottles open, with another 8 in waiting. Also, I have 2 bottles in my garage to pass around in-between beers when I am out there screwing around.
Paddy
I've got around 10 open, with another 50 or so in the bunker. These will all be drank, as none are off limits. In addition, I've got some old sealed decanters that I probably will never open. Nothing too special, just average grade bourbon from the 70's and 80's that isn't worth breaking into them for. mosugoji64
Just updated my spreadsheet and saw that I have 90 open bottles and 58 in the bunker. Mostly bourbon but with some rye, corn, wheat, and Irish whiskey mixed in as well. Some of those open bottles are getting pretty low so the count could change soon. 393foureyedfox
i feel like if my bunker gets large enough to maintain a spreadsheet on it, it is too big.....unless you just enjoy making spreadsheets, like Mrs Fox does.
Yeti
As many as I want opened, and about as many as I want sealed.
jvd99
Probably about 300 evenly split between bourbons and single malts. 90% of the bourbons are LE's. Single Malts are mostly dusty, LE or otherwise hard to get. Every day drinkers are purchased as needed and the bunker is tapped occasionally and is really being built up and maintained for life-long enjoyment. fishnbowljoe
i feel like if my bunker gets large enough to maintain a spreadsheet on it, it is too big.....unless you just enjoy making spreadsheets, like Mrs Fox does.I know of a number of members here that use a spreadsheet to keep track of what they have. I can only surmise that you're referring to me since I'm the only member here that's mentioned a spreadsheet in this thread. I can't help but get the feeling you're calling me out on this for some reason. Why is that Doug? FWIW, my bunker, while not as large as a lot of members, is large enough that I use a spreadsheet to keep track of it. That's it plain and simple. That, and I have CRS disease. (Can't Remember Shit) :slappin: What's your excuse for the odd things that you do?
TunnelTiger
I wish I had the patience to make a spreadsheet but I use/see so many at work that I'm tired of them. I'd rather be surprised by finding a bottle I didn't realize I had.
