flahute
I believe quite a few of us enjoy Dant BIB , we just don't talk a lot about it so that it slides under the radar.I would love to be one of you many fine folk but it isn't sold here so I'll have to trust you all that it's good. squire
It's good but not great and the 4-6 year old 100 or so proof Heaven Hill Bourbons are so close in profile comparative tastings are more an excuse to have a tasting (as if we need one) than to reveal subtle differences. They are way, way better though than numerous NDP or craft brands that cost much more.

I have both the HH 6yr BIB and EW white label BIB which I like quite a bit so it sounds like I have that profile covered. And, I totally agree on the comparison with many of the NDP's and craft brands!

fozzy71
The only times I have seen it here it was 10 - 20 over our state min price. If I ever find it for the proper price I will have to grab one of those even though it's a bit above what I like to spend per bottle anymore.I grabbed a 200ml and 375 of WT101 yesterday when traveling just in case that 200ml of Beam White I had at my Aunt's wasn't going to be enough. Didn't need the WT's but they will come in handy here eventually for doing a SBS of the stave soaked mason jar I want to test out tonight, and for making more if I like how it turns out.*edit to add: heading to NW Indiana tomorrow for two nights to visit a friend and plan on coming back with a trunk full of stuff I can't buy here in our stupid state. And, I totally agree on the comparison with many of the NDP's and craft brands!I personally think HHBIB, EWBIB and JWD are virtually identical to my palate and will generally gravitate toward the cheapest, which around here is JWD. Last of those I picked up were $11 a fifth.
squire
Ken do you still get T.W. Samuels BIB in Memphis? I ask because I've found it there in years past.
Quintilian
I finally got around to purchasing a bottle of JBBiB today. I'm trying it tonight. For whatever reason, its profile seems a little on the rye side. Maybe the higher proof brings it out? Of the Beam products, for me it's 1a) OGD114, 1b) OGDBiB (depending on my mood), and 2) KC. MOwhisky4me
Spent some time last week in St Louis for work and dropped by Lukas Liquor in Ellisville. Picked up Old Forester Single Barrel and a bottle of Michter's American Whiskey (hadn't tried that yet) Then popped into the St Louis Wine Market in Chesterfield and grabbed a bottle of JJ Neukomm Whiskey (a Missouri made single malt whiskey made with cherry smoked malt and aged in small Missouri oak casks) and a '03 Evan Williams Single Barrel. Topped off that little restocking spree by finding a '04 Evan Williams Single Barrel when the wife sent me to do the grocery shopping yesterday... It's been a good week!
