Today's purchases might create a bit of friction with the wife when I try slipping them through the front door, but when the gettings good:

Weller 12

Old forester birthday

Rock hill farms

Smooth ambler cask strength bourbon

Smooth ambler cask strength rye

Amador

I was actually a good boy on trip to KBF. Have done much worse damage than this in previous years. (2) VOB 6 yr VOB, (4) MM46 Cask Strength, (2) MM Chi Blackhawks commemoratives, and (1) PHC Malt.

I've never found a Grade A dusty in my area, but I do stumble upon more recent dusties from time to time. Today I came across a 1.75 of Heaven Hill Gold Label BIB for $25. I picked that up. Also picked up Beam BIB and OGD 114 for $21.99 each. It's just so hard to pass up OGD 114 at $22, as I simply can't imagine it staying at that price much longer.

I think I brought back the fewest bottles from any trip to Kentucky (only 6!), but pleased with them all:

OBSO (last of Jim's picks - X2)

OBSV (first batch of Brent Elliott's picks)

FR SmBLE

HH6BIB

HH6yr 90

that's an awesome haul, congrats on the pickups! haven't seen RHF at all, so hoping to see it soon

Against my better judgement, I bought two bottles tonight. An Elijah Craig 12 year Store Select (to compare to the other bottling I have from a different floor and a different rick house), and a Store Select of Blanton's.

Very nice on both.

Today is the first day of fall so we'll need a new thread soon, but since I bought these yesterday I'll park this in the summer thread still. Picked up a couple store selects: SAOS10 and RR10SiB. I had major cork issues with the RR, though. When I picked the bag up to bring from my car to the house, I smelled bourbon but nothing was wet or leaking. But then when I got to my bar and grabbed the RR by the neck to take it out of the bag, boom, the entire cap flew off, still intact in the plastic shrink wrap somehow, and the bottle dropped. Fortunately it landed upright on the bar after a single bounce and only fell about a foot, so I only lost a pour or two. But I was tempted to lick it off the bar, I'll tell you that much. Disaster averted, though.

It escapes me why any store would sell Four Roses Private Selections for $44.99. Most of this planet is willing to pay $55+ for them, and Four Roses Private Selections do not appear to be in oversupply anywhere. You would expect a store selling those recipes for $44.99 to be stripped in minutes. What am I missing here?

It's nice your gf came through for you today. :woohoo: It's also cool you got some FR's and an OFBB.

Sorry, I couldn't help it. I just had to. Ya' gotta have some fun.

But seriously, congrats on procuring the great bottles. Cheers and enjoy.
