flahute
Did the Thanksgiving weekend shopping today for our annual trip with friends. I picked up a Baker's, because it was a hit last year (and I have to say that it really shined), a 4RSB, because it's so dang good (went with SmB last year so we're stepping up), and a WTKS because you need a Turkey for turkey day. (Did Rare Breed last year and it wasn't as big a hit with the non enthusiasts.)Also picked up a standard Knob Creek for the home bar. My last bottle didn't do much for me but my recent excellent pour at the local bar swayed me to give it another shot and I have to say the first pour from the bottle was excellent. Paul W
Local market had Booker's on sale at $38.99 which is the best price I have seen. But I have one open and a couple of spares already. So I decided not to buy it. But then I looked at it was the C-07-B7 roundtable batch. Well, that did it. Bought two. Then I noticed a single bottle of ETL on the shelf for $34.99, which is as good as it gets out here. So, remembering that store near me that just marked their ETL up to $139.99, I panic-purchased that as well, even though I have several in the bunker already.Am I wisely purchasing good bourbon at good prices that won't be available a few years down the road, or am I just a compulsive hoarder? Golzee
VOB BIB, I have never tried it before, but, you guys haven't led me astray yet. Hopefully it lives up to the hype, if it doesn't it was only $13.

Jazz Nut
ETL $35, I picked up the last two bottles.I think nowadays, that is a good price! Still spotty distribution in the Minneapolis area. If you like ETL might as well get both!

cho
Passed on ETL at $31.99 and after debating for minutes I told the liquor manager to pass it onto someone who hasn't had it before. Walked out, called the wife and told her I found this that yadda yadda and she tells me to pick it up so she can gift it to some relatives overseas. so all in all, one ETL for $31.99 I have seen it anywhere from $49.99 to $199.99 in the past few weeks. A local shop that had it for $49.99 just upgraded its price to $99.99 ha

After debating for a moment i decided to pick up a bottle of Buffalo Trace's Single Oak project. Not sure how it'll be, but should be an interesting pour at the least

babermac
I walked into my neighborhood wine & spirits shop with one objective, and one objective only: a half bottle of Dolin dry vermouth ($11), in case any of my Thanksgiving guests want martinis. I managed to exit the store and get halfway down the block before turning back and grabbing the bottle of Midwinter Nights Dram sitting in the window. That bottle is just too pretty, and I've heard too many great things about it to pass it up. So now I've got a real treat for my guests tomorrow.Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
