Grabbed a bottle of Evan Willams white label today..nothing crazy, but worth having open on the bar.

I was in Brooklyn for the NCAA Tournament last week and managed to come across a bottle of CEHTBP, Batch 4 on the shelf for what I thought was a good enough price to pull the trigger, since I haven't seen a bottle on the shelf in forever.  I snagged it up, along with a bottle of EWSB '04 to drink while I was in town.  The store owner was awesome.  I mentioned that I was looking for a HWMWND, but had never actually tried it, so he brought out his personal bottle and let me try it.

Making me wish I snagged this bottle of HWMWND when I saw it for $120...seemed too steep for me haha

Knob Creek SB. First of all, this isn't 9 years old, it's much older, I'd say 12-14 years old. The extra aging has completely altered the usual funky/anise signature of Beam bourbon. The result is a richer, sweeter, cleaner bourbon, IMO. After the first two ounces were consumed I topped it up with neutral water to get it to about 100 proof and it is pretty much perfect at that point, still a little strong but just what it should be.

Party Source in Bellevue must have just gotten their allotment of Stagg Jr., so I bought a bottle.  This will be my first Stagg.

Just back from a family vacation to Japan.  Picked these up at a local supermarket in Tokyo:

Harry tipped me to a shop in DC with some OBSK (thanks!) and a friend grabbed a bottle for me for $60. Also picked up some CEHT SB for $51 and a 'handle' of EC12 for $50.

Ok, ok - I know it's not a bourbon but . . . . . got the opportunity to buy a 2016 Yamazkai Sherry Cask today and jumped at it.  Woohoo - can't wait to get it home and open her up.  Guess I can dump my Yamazaki 12 and 18 now????    :P

Oh, I had a taste of that at a tasting.  For free.  I don't care what you paid, almost.  I'm envious.

Hey Harry,

Was your taste really, really good?  Inquiring minds want to know before I crack the seal.   B)

And I can send you a copy of my receipt - you won't believe what I paid (in a good way!), especially with only 5000 bottles distributed world-wide.   I'd rather be lucky than good.   ;)

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the Private Select.  I believe the barrel finish choosing is similar to MM46 and it's at CS.  I think the Private Select is only around Kentucky at the moment, but bigger chains will likely get in.

Yup - excellent.  I usually (like almost always) pass on really expensive offerings even at MSRP just because my palate is too old to appreciate them.  But, this one anywhere close to MSRP I'd probably stand and stare a long time and then would buy it.

Won $80 at the casino a couple days ago, so I picked up a bottle of Woodford Reserve for $29.99.  Somehow, I have not tried WR yet.  The reviews here on SB make it seem overpriced for what you get, but, $30 seemed reasonable, especially in todays market.

I picked the MM46CS at Liquor Barn in Danville, KY.  They had two different picks.  Here are the specifics.

I really enjoyed my bottle of wr. It is a very good and traditional tasting bourbon to me. It is similar to Jefferson very special reserve but around half the price. My first bottle went pretty quick.
