Still working on this bottle:

I have one in the bunker that I bought on clearance for $30ish, what do you think?  It is the only NDP bourbon I have left that I bought before I joined this enlightened community.

I hit a local with friends and had a few pours of ER10 (over a lengthy period of time).  When I asked for the tab, I realized that I was only being charged $3.50 (during happy hour) and $5.50 (after happy hour had ended) for each one.

Needless to say, I'd have Ubered my way over there and back (and killed that bottle off), had I known then what I know now!

I warmed up with a small dram of Evan Williams BiB which always impresses especially for the price.

Now I'm moving on to my latest newly opened bottle:  RR SiB local store select.

Enjoying the new OF1920. Love the cinnamon and brown sugar, but there is a wet wood note that I don't like. Overall, a good bottle that's easy to find.

I got that wet wood note when I first opened it. It went away completely by the third pour and has not come back.

Steve, How does the Sig stand up when you go SBS with those two?  At the price point, I really have a hard time with anything OF- other than the Sig.

I don't have Sig right now. My usual stores either don't sell it or charge $35 for it. There is a store that has it for $21 (which it should be) but I haven't gotten there in a while.

I am curious how it stacks up though. I can tell you that the 1920 rivals OFBB some nights. The 1897 is not at the same level. (I won't be buying another one of those.)

Some JB Distillers Masterpiece last night. I haven't visited it in quite some time and it was still delicious. A lovely sweet viscous whiskey. One of the few finished bourbons that I don't hate.

It's nice, not sure if I would buy again though.

Agreed...Got in late last night so I thought I'd keep it simple with a neat pour of EW BIB. Made me wonder why I don't have it more often. To me, it's by far the best value pour on the market

If you like FR, you'll enjoy it Ryan. I bought a bottle when it first came out and liked it quite a bit. The only reason I never bought another is that for less $$ (it was close to $50 when introduced) I'd just as soon buy FRSB. If I ever see the Bulleit 10yr in the low $30 range, I'll buy it again

Started off with a short pour of Blanton's then for a change of pace went with Old Charter 8 yr which is hitting all the right notes so I went back for another helping

Slow sipping Basil Hayden neat.  That followed a nice tequila at a Mexican restaurant earlier.

Started with some SAOS, then went to some ECBP, then to finish up the night had a great pour from an EWSB 2004. What an awesome day.

Ending a great day of college football while watching highlights and sipping my go-to WT101.  Getting close to finishing off this handle jug.

Enjoying FC103 6yr and EW BiB.  Actually doing a SBS
Early report is the FC is in the lead. FC has More complexity.
The EWBiB has good viscosity for such a bargain bourbon.

Both are worth owning in my opinion.

I've been drinking Barrel Whiskey (001) the past couple of days, and decided I'd go with Larceny to top my flask off yesterday (it was about 1/2 full).  The BW/Larceny hybrid ended up being pretty darn tasty on a chilly Saturday evening!

Last night we finished off a PVW15 to celebrate the Cubs win . . . refined and delicious to the last drop.

Celebrating the birthday with a OFBB 2016.  I really like this release.  I get the dark fruits on this release.  I like this so much more then the 14 and 15.  Reminds me of my 2014 M10.

In the 40s, by the campfire enjoying some OGD 114, and trying to make sure my son didn't start a forrest fire.

In Vegas (MGM) for a conference this week.  Passed on GTS for $1500/bottle.  Purchased Evan Williams BiB for $23 and am in my happy place.  Pretty sure I made a wise choice

I'd rather have had the GTS, at least for drinking/satisfaction... as long as it was YOUR 1500 bux providing that option.

Of course, if I had to choose while spending my owns cheddar; EW BIB is a very nice drinker, far waaaaaaay less; and much easier to find most places.
