Very nice pour, did you cut or take straight up?

I choose to drink it neat, but I'm sure it can take some water easily.

I have tried the 2015 WLW Will. I was given a small sample by a fellow member here. It's good. Very good. Probably better than the 2007.  Let me explain.

Other than myself, no one else has really said much about the 2007 WLW. It seems to be kinda the "runt of the litter" in comparison to all the other WLW's to date. Maybe it's because it's the lowest proof offering so far, or maybe it's something else. Whatever the reason, almost everyone prefers other years to the 07. I may be the odd duck when it comes to the 07. I'm not sure what it is, but I absolutely love it, and for the life of me I can't explain why.

Joe

The 07 is the younger WLW release, it's pretty high rated, LA Whiskey Society gave an A- , same score for the 2015. Everyone has their favourite.

I'm sure it's delicious.

Louisiana: your fault...1792 FP after two hours of shoveling heavy snow.  Followed by CEHT Barrel Proof 134.5%.  Can't feel the pain in my back anymore!!  CEHT gets the nod, but damn..two fine bourbons.

Just doing my part! :) That's the first batch of EHTBP. Cheers!

Bread, cookies and booze.  Can't go wrong there!  I was never a fan of the standard RR or the rebranded 1792.  However, I have a single barrel 1792 that is one of my current favorites.  An SBer turned me onto a barrel proof single barrel but I haven't been able to make it over to pick one up.  Hopefully, soon...if they aren't all gone.

I hear bread, cookies, & booze are really good for my health! :D

Grab that 1792FP. I think you'll enjoy it!

Went to a caroling party last night and brought a flask of OF Single Barrel to wet the whistle. It ended up being so dang cold while walking around that I never opened up my jacket to get it out. Not to worry though as we returned to the host house for hot toddies. The first one was made with Jameson which was OK so I made sure to use the OF for the second one and I just may have gone a little heavy on the OF..........and it tasted fantastic. I shared the flask because others agreed how good it was and we emptied it pretty quickly. Good times.

Had a FRSB last night at a club where I was playing drums. I don't know what recipe it was but it was fantastic.

Brought Belle Meade 9 yr. Sherry Finish last night to a family holiday party.  Had a couple drams and left it at my brother's place.  Not too impressed and definitely not worth the hefty price tag.

That was my impression, too.  The Sherry never seemed integrated with the bourbon.  After some time I finished the bottle, but won't be seeking a second.

Yeah it's going to have a price increase up to $99.99 after Christmas.

I'd imagine it was probably the standard OBSV rather than a private selection

I have never tried Devil's Cut or Fireball.  I have tried WT Honey, which was not too bad.  I have always wanted to try KC Maple but I won't buy a bottle to do so.  Sometime, I will grab a 50 ml sample bottle just to see what it tastes like.

Playing pool in the man cave while hoping for a Bear's comeback. Playing pool equals JTS Brown ala Paul Newman.

Smooth Ambler tonight. Started on an 11 year SB, moved onto an 8 year SB. Both very nice indeed. Cheers all!

I really like the Wathen's SB (Barrel 0341). I find it rich, complex and memorable. Just goes to show how preferences vary. This has convinced me to give Old Medley (12 yr) a try.

I had a little dram of this last night. Bottle is halfway through so it's mellowed a bit. It tastes quite spicy (young?) To me still but it's certainly unique! Still getting those peanut notes...

It was just a regular SB. Are those always OBSV?

Devils Cut is surprisingly pretty decent. Really oaks  (go figure!)  Never had Fireball.  I think I'm outside their target demographic. Somebody bought me a shot of WT Honey once and it wasn't too bad. I did try the KC Maple via a sample that came with a regular bottle. It was way too syrupy tasting for me. It literally tasted like some poured maple syrup in a glass of KC..which I guess is what it's supposed to taste like.

Hmmm... I see a lot of the 50 ml samples of Devil's Cut so I will need to either grab one or try it when one of the stores has a tasting.  One of our local chains has specials of standard stuff and provides samples.  I know Devil's Cut was one of the tastings one time but I went in during lunch hour and couldn't try it. I have heard the same comments about KC maple.  I don't knock this flavored bourbons (whiskies) because I haven't tried them.  I suppose if they had been available when I was in college, I would have  been in the target demographic and tried them. Especially, if chicks liked them.  :D

Wathen's and Medley 12 year, and I believe there is a family reserve, or something like that, are bottles I have never tried.  I have been to several different stores where Wathen's or Medley's have been staff picks or recommended.  I am always skeptical when stores or owners push a particular bottle with unknown provenance as being "really good."  However, I continue to hear other bourbon drinkers tell me they like them as well.  I guess I need to get off my high horse and give them a try.  I have seen several Wathen's single barrels on sale at Binny's.  Might need to pick one up.  I guess it doesn't matter who makes it provided the price is right and the taste is good.  Medley's, on the other hand, seems to be fairly expensive.

Thanks for the 4R link. I wasn't aware of that. I was looking at a SB at the store the other day trying to figure out what recioe. Lol.

And..we need a like button for mbroo's post! I probably drank a lot of stuff in college for that very reason. But that was a long time ago. Turning 50 in 10 days.

Here's what I'm starting with tonight.  OGD114  really punches above its weight (even though it drinks less than its proof).
