0895
Got a souvenir "old tub" while visiting Jim Beam. Fun stuff. At least it's age stated, LoL. Edited June 18, 2017 by 0895

Now if I could just stumble on the elusive W12 (at retail) - the bunkered OWAs would like some company.... That is still an impressive haul. Congrats. What's agravating is over the past couple + years I've seen less than a 1/2 dozen W12 750s and bought only one (from the back room after all but begging)- I refuse to feed the bourbon pimps at double to triple+. Over the past month + I've seen over a dozen RY10 and bought 3 (leaving more) on shelves. Maybe 1/2 dozen being pimped at @ triple, rest at @ list/release. Not knocking RY10, just continually frustrated by the dearth (for years) of W12 at retail. Same goes for RHF, ETL, OWA, all the 1792 variants (other than SmB), and to a lesser extent Stagg Jr. Dang that Sazerac....

fanostra
Was looking for a W12 as I heard it dropped recently here. No luck but picked up a Four Roses OESK Private Barrel from Binny's. This edition is 10 years and 4 months. First over 10 years I've seen in a while as most around here have been 9 and change. Not a bad alternative. Clueby
Picked up a WSR for consumption while I'm in Florida for the next week. I'm already a pour and a half into it. I was hoping I'd find some stuff that I can't get back home in Missouri but so far no luck. I asked at 2 different ABCs today about OWA and W12 since there seems to be a lot of it hitting the market around the country. The managers at both stores laughed when I asked and said that they had not seen a single bottle of W12 in 3 years and they get maybe 3 bottles of OWA a year and they are allocated already. I did see lots of other BT stuff..ER10, CEHTSmB, etc. I almost bought an Old Ezra 7 Year 101 vs the WSR but it seemed overpriced at $27. The WSR was $22 I think, which is overpriced as well but I'm on vacation.
JSpartan
Just got back from visiting the future in-laws and attending a wedding at Buffalo Trace. Got a short tour/tasting between the ceremony and reception which was cool. I was also sent home with this from my future father-in-law. Signed by Brent Elliott. It was a good weekend indeed. Was in Louisville on Saturday to see Kinky Boots and had a pour of ETL at Bistro 301 before dinner (somebody please find me a bottle of ETL for under $100, I love this stuff). After the play we stopped at Bristol Bar & Grille for desert and a nightcap and I had my first pour of WTRB. My only exposure to WT was years ago and I wasn't very impressed but I have to admit that I did enjoy this one. Probably see a bottle of this in my cabinet in the future. Spade
Walked into a store looking for nothing in particular and grabbed a Booker's. It was the same batch I just finished a few weeks ago and still had the old pricing. Come to think of it, I've seen plenty of stores raise the price but I don't know if I've seen a 2017 batch yet. jeffrey r
NJ has received a new shipment of Barterhouse, as I've come across a few bottles in recent weeks after not seeing any for quite some time. Picked up a couple more backups at $79. There is simply no other 20 year old bourbon of similar quality out there for $80. I rather like Barterhouse. I've never seen it in the wild either... it is a shy creature, usual habitat is "in the back". Now that I have one in captivity I'm hoping it can be tamed and become a loyal fireside companion. gmiller598
Spent the weekend in Louisville. Came home with the special MM generations set of single barrel cask strength, ECBP, a blanton's that we needed to help fill out our stopper set, and a 1.75 of WSR.Stopped at a local shop last night and surprisingly stumbled across a 1792 Sweet Wheat and also got a Bulleit 10.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cruel, very cruel. Sorry... if it makes you feel better, I overpaid for these... This ETL was $39, and the W12 was $34 but not as bad as the CEHTBP at $84... That's a little high, but not WTF price-gouging high so I'm good with it... They made the effort to box them up, put my name on them, send me an email, and hold them for me until I got there so I figure a slight premium is warranted... If I ever find ETL at $39 I'm buying 3 or 4 bottles. I've found it in exactly one store around here and they seriously wanted $100 a bottle. They asked me if I was interested in anything and I said ETL, but not at that price and just walked out the door. I love the flavor of it but . . . $100? Those sound like really good prices to me. Of those three bottles, I've only ever found ETL 3 times (2 @$40 from different stores that came home and 1 I left on the shelf @$150) I would love to find a W12 at the price. I've only ever seen it a few times either at a bar or behind the glass at Buffalo Trace this past weekend.
