They had one of the old bottles and the rest were the new style.

Proof is listed as 116.8.

Perhaps the higher barreling proof WT went to some years ago is starting to have an impact!

Is there a label Campari HASN'T changed in the last few years???

Now you're really pushing it;

Lol! We're actually staying out in the Short Pump area so we're in a pretty decent location. We're heading out tomorrow for Kentucky... Looking forward to a BT Distillery tour and picking up some selections I don't usually run across in Missouri.

I haven't been to Frankfort for a few years but a few stores worth checking out are Red Dot (the one on US 127) and Capital Cellars which downtown and close to BT.

Got an email from a liquor store that these went on the shelf. I was there 2 hours later. Good day for me!

Crazy. Did they let you buy them all?  There's some clown on Facebook right now selling like 40 of the 750s for $110 each. He apparently got them all today.

1 bottle limit per customer / per day.  Although I did end up w/ 3 of the 1.75 after a couple friends helped out.

It seems that a few different areas of the country are getting some shipments in.

I think buying 40 bottles to scalp later is ridiculous. At least leave a few for the next poor guy.

I have been known to buy the last two bottles of ECBP though.....

Extremely jealous of this ^. I went to some not so great Chicago areas looking for this today with no luck (Probably 10-12 stores that supposedly got it). I can find Stagg Jr and the other Weller family members no problem, but I haven't even come across an extremely overpriced one in the past couple of years since getting sucked into this Bourbon world.

Bought a Knob Creek 9yr age stated gift set today for the two rocks glasses because I need two more rocks glasses like I need a hole in the head.

Wife is not pleased.

But really, I can't turn down free rocks glasses. (And they have that chrome plating around the rim which looks snazzy in a 60's kind of way which I'm a sucker for).

DFCFan wants to know if you're stopping at Baltimore on the way.

I do feel your pain (as well as gain).

Speaking of... age stated handles started popping back up here recently.  If I said pallets for your palate, you'd no doubt probably figure out where!  ;)

I know you're already feeling my pain, 'cause times like this make my bourbon Zen'shu most challenging!

The 'palate' thread has led to a collective upping of the game here.

Well done.

I got one of those for Christmas last year.  I loved the bourbon but I love the glasses even more.  They have become my favorite glasses.

I got a few of the gift sets this past winter.  It was a no-brainer--regular price, age stated KC, and two great rocks glasses.  I think I have 4 glasses in rotation, and two gift sets (so 4 more glasses) in the bunker.

If he was then I'd have to get a couple of other posters and stage an intervention. It's the humane thing to do to keep someone from walking off the cliff. :D

Nuts. That's just stupid nuts.

Makes me feel even better about my purchase of one of those for $26.99 plus tax the other day. In MN no less- we've never gotten W12 before.

If it's any consolation, I haven't seen any Weller 12 around here in a long time either J. I have one each of the new label bottles of OWA and Weller SR, but I'd really like to find at least one of the new label bottles of Weller 12 to complete the set. I do have a couple of the old label Weller 12's that I have no problem opening. The only reason I'm hesitant is that I'll probably use at least one of them for the next batch of my own Weller Blend for our Sampler next spring

Cheers! Joe

I visited a local Bourbon Hole today and came home with a Blanton's Store Select, Eagle Rare Store Select and a KCSB Store Select.

It is a free market and retailers can sell how ever many bottles to whomever they wish and whatever price they wish.  However, if I were a retailer and I had a product that I knew was in demand and allocated, I would limit the number of bottles a single person could purchase.  I would want to allow as many customers as possible to be able to pick up a bottle.  I would also refuse to sell a bottle to anyone I knew was a flipper.  I know a few shop owners who are very astute at identifying flippers so they limit what they make available to them.  In the end flipping hurts retailers too since it attracts consumers to a secondary and illegal market.

Staying in Frankfort KY with the family tonight... Planning on touring Buffalo Trace tomorrow before heading back to Missouri. Hit a couple liquor stores this evening to grab some bourbon we don't get in MO. Grabbed a few fifths of Heaven Hill 6yo BiB and some Very Old Barton BiB.

Was hoping to grab some Old Fitz BiB but struck out at Red Ball and at Capital Cellars... Anyone have suggestions on other places to check? Will be taking I64 back tomorrow if there's anywhere along that corridor to make a quick stop.

Sometimes KY is the most shopped out, you can check out Ocean Breeze in Frankfort.  Obvious options in Louisville would be Liquor Barn. A couple of non-chain options would  be Westport Wine and Whiskey (a little expensive but stellar store selections) and Evergreen (Shelbyville Road).
