Go for it! Non chill filtered, i believe it, but uncut, no way, seems like watered down a little.

Cheers!

Palates are an interesting thing. I found my 1792FP to be VERY hot. It seemed to drink way above its proof. SBS with an ECBP batch 12 at 136 proof the 1792FP 125 proof seemed way hotter.  It was a bit thinner feel as well. Mine is a store pick SB so maybe that's the difference. Not saying its BAD..just wasn't prepared for how hot and mean it seemed.

Mine was very smooth, like you said maybe it's your store pick.

Yep, they are cut down to the 125 proof.  For a starting proof reference point, when we selected our GBS barrel of 1792 FP, the proofs of all the barrels offered were in a tight range in the low to mid 130's range.  So, not a lot of cutting.  I very much like the 1792 family of bourbons , and particularly the FP.

Now we need to get them to do the High Rye at Full Proof. I think that would be particularly good.

Thank you for those informations. I was not a big fan of their small batch. Not that it's bad but I prefer higher proof bourbons, the full proof is perfect for me.

Recently purchased this bottle after reading good things about it and I was quite impressed.  I will have to pick up another bottle when I see it again.  Curious to hear what others think about this one.

I'm a big fan of their products.  I also like the Bowman Brothers Small Batch (although not as much as the John J).  They also make a pretty tasty Bourbon Cream (Mary Hite Bowman) if your into that.

The animals at the Whiskey Den drank all of the bottle I brought back from my DC trip in less than a week!  Great stuff, IMHO.  Good thing I'm heading back down to Richmond, VA to officiate at a swim meet in August.  I hear they have a couple of VA ABC stores down there . . . .

You could even stop by the distillery in Fredericksburg if you want.

I haven't had a bottle for several years, back before it was available in Indiana.  I see it at a lot of stores now.  I enjoyed the bottle that I had.  However, at its price point, I typically opt for CEHT SmB which I can find for about $7 less.

I opened a bottle of ER.  I haven't had a bottle for a while now, probably close to a year or more.  This bottle seems a little woodier than the recent bottles I have had.  The pour I am having seems to be opening up a little as I get closer to the bottom of the glass.   I am not a big fan of woody bourbons so I hope a little air time will tame the woodiness a little.

Finally got around to opening this one, 1792 FP barrel select. I'm going to let it sit a bit but did take a quick sip. I enjoyed the nose and taste on this. I've been avoiding 1792 and Barton distilled products since I disliked VOB BiB so much.

Glad I listened to you guys and picked this up.

I've been working through a barrel select of this as well and throughly enjoying. Packs a smooth punch for the high proof.

I completely agree. I was surprised how much I like this one. I wasn't a fan of the Small Batch at all, but the FP offering is nice, even more so with the 2 barrel selects I've tried.

I've heard good things about Booker's Toogie's Invitation. It was the last bottle of Booker's I bought last year during the craze and I have to say it lives up to the hype. Hard to believe it's only 6 yrs 4 months and 4 days in the barrel. It's so thick and viscous and full of flavor. Granted it's the Beam flavor(which I like). I swore off Beam after the Booker's fiasco but this bottle puts some serious doubt into my resolve.  Truly an excellent example of what bourbon should be!

Some recent bottle clearing left me with shelf space.

What the heck, it's a holiday.

Opened a bottle of WTRB with some friends that will be moving to Florida next week. Going to dig thru the collection and open something special for our last "evening" together this weekend. It will be a combined, we are going to miss you and early kickoff to my birthday.

Finally getting around to opening this bottle. I feel less guilty knowing bottles have hit TX now.

REMEMBER!  Go here -

https://www.abc.virginia.gov/stores#/search

and type in "Richmond, VA" and click on "Richmond, VA, United States" (yeah, it's like typing it twice, but . . . B))  The Richmond store addresses and numbers are shown on a printable map.  The stores numbered 182 and 101 sometimes have brands not readily available at other stores.
