Passed on an ETL for $52. Another store had it for $35 and that was an easy buy.

Passed on a lot Gifted Horse, ETL, THH, Stagg Jr, BT, ER10, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some reasons were either outrageous prices or I'm already stocked or in some cases both.

that's right... :( forgot I also saw the first 1792 Port Finish I've seen since the release - it too was overpriced and I really didn't like it much

Tried Breaker wheated bourbon today in the store. Is a 5 year old single barrel at 90 proof. It was actually decent but I'd like to see a few more years and a few proof points. But it wasn't $60 decent so I passed. Their port finished bourbon was terrible by comparison.

Passed on Booker's at $50 and Basil Hayden at something like $38 while strolling through Costco this evening

I've recently left some Bookers Center Cut at the store, ETL, Belle Meade Sherry, and Rebel Yell 10 to name a few.

for the most part price was right, but I either had around 3 back up bottles of most or I just thought it was good karma to leave em for other folks who may have been looking for them.  Unless it's something really serious, I typically am not buying at this point.

On a positive note, I did snag 3 Weller12 bottles for myself!

I've really been wanting a bottle of Maker's Mark Private Select, bit I passed on it this morning. I was up until about 2 a.m. watching the SEC get three teams into the Elite Eight, and I've also spent way too much money on bourbon in the past two months.

Wow, you're cruzin isles I've not seen. ETL, RY10, and W12. Nice and very inviting. :)

Again, I can't find any of these three to pass on or buy, although if I could find them I probably wouldn't be posting in the what did you pass on but in the what did you purchase today section.

Sort of passed - a store about an hour away got in a barrel pick of WSR and posted in their email message about it yesterday morning along with a note not to wait as they didn't expect it to last past the end of April.  It lasted until about 10AM today...  appears their yield was 20 cases but knowing this store they held some back and they sold 15 yesterday with the other 5 going this morning.  Another local SBr here tried to get there in time but missed out on it and was going to let me in on the fun if he could have gotten any (thanks!)

Now the really impressive part - the price was $32 - I know it's probably not all that bad but with OWA at $29 WSR should be closer to $22 but it's so rarely seen around here that I guess it wasn't about the price.  Probably would still have gotten one at the price due to it being a barrel pick but no joy!

I've heard of some of the KY stores having barrel picks last less than a day but those were 1792FP.

1792 Port Finish - It actually wasn't that expensive. Under $50.00 dollars. Would anyone pull the trigger on one or two?

I really like it.  I have one open and three more in the bunker, but they all cost in the $30-40 range.  $50 seems high.

I think at this point retail has all vanished. At least in my neck of the woods. This particular place has it for 44.99. Decent you think?

That is a bargain, for me, around here where other places have had it for 64.99; see below:

I noticed it around here a week or two ago but I didn't take note of the price it's at now as I didn't need any more.  I think $45 is still high given that FP SiB store picks are $40, but then again if it's disappeared in your neck of the woods, grab it.  The port finish is noticeable but it's not overpowering to me.  It's not an everyday drinker but I love it in the winter by the fire, or on a rainy night, etc.

Only you can really say. Prices vary greatly from area to area. If you want it and the price is $20 under the usual local price it seems reasonable to go for it.

Twenty cases of WSR at $32 ea gone in 1.2 days is INSANE!!!! Even if it is a barrel pick.   I just don't understand anymore.
