I'm totally cool with this, do whatever you like with your bourbon and think it's pretty bad ass.

However I still think there's better options to mix with Coke and better options to use up a bottle of ETL I don't care for.

I've had this bottle close to 2 years. Don't get me wrong, it's very nice, but for the price and proof, there are others to buy. To me, it's pretty hot for the proof. Too much cinammon, spicey, not much sweetness.

Don't get me wrong either, I would never drink my bourbon with coke, but its like telling someone not to put ketchup on their steak....

Started the evening with EWSB 2006, and moving on to Parker's Heritage POH (opened a few nights ago--last bottle sadly), what a nice bourbon.  It really is well rounded, and balanced between sweet mash meets toasty oak.  What a nice bourbon.  With that said the EWSB 2006 was nice too.  I'll probably move to something to finish the night.  Might have to move to a small pour of ECBP, and make it a Heaven Hill night.

If I'm going to mix bourbon I'd go with a good ginger ale never been a fan of bourbon and Coke. Better yet try an old fashioned.

Honestly though I'd keep it around for people that might stop over that are bourbon fans that like ETL or try to gift the bottle to a local SBer or something. I like ETL but still think something like EWBiB is a better mixer.

Personally If I ended up with a bottle of ETL I didn't like I have a neighbor who's name is Elmer Lee and would give it to him just for fun.

Curious how long you have been drinking bourbon

Drinking bourbon or drinking "Bourbon"? Being an obsessive bourbon dork only about a year. I was a pretty big Rye related fan a few years back mostly for drinks like old fashions and Manhattans. From there slowly transitioned to bourbon.

Elmer liked his with Sprite (or 7-Up....it was one of those lemon-lime sodas). If it's good enough for him........

I had the grill going earlier with an OE101/Coke.  There is a time and a place for everything.  Drink what ya want.

Being from Georgia and living in metro Atlanta I'm honestly having a bigger problem adulterating Coca-cola. I can honestly say that I've never had a coke and anything that was better to me than just a coke.

But I have on occasion enjoyed a few whiskeys (usually not bourbon) that I've enjoyed with ginger ale or Sprite/7-Up. Probably the only bourbon type mix that I've really enjoyed was a Dickel Drop...George Dickel and Sun Drop.

I am of the opinion that mixing good spirits simply make good mixed drinks, so I won't disparage someone for mixing ETL. I also like coke, and obviously bourbon, but I enjoy them both separately more than I do together. Old fashioned, mint julip, manhattan, whiskey sour, kentucky mule, vieux carre, boulevardier, those are my go-to's for bourbon/rye cocktails.

Now ketchup on steak, that is beyond the pale.

I had the fiancé pour these for a blind tasting. I accurately got the 101 and 10yr, but I switched the Rare Breed and store pick Single Barrell. This confirmed why Eddie and Jimmy make my favorite juice. Now I need to figure out what I should follow up with.

Looks tasty! Reminds me it's been so long since I last had a Wild Turkey, I'll probably pick up and try a single barrel tomorrow.

Enjoying an EH Taylor BP tonight.

Decided to open an old style WSR. I have to give the slightest of edge to the old style bottle. It just has a bit more body to it.

Started with some EC10, then moved to a really good store pick of OWA.  Thinking about going with some SAOSSB "Barrel Thieves" next.
