I had the fiancé pour these for a blind tasting. I accurately got the 101 and 10yr, but I switched the Rare Breed and store pick Single Barrell. This confirmed why Eddie and Jimmy make my favorite juice. Now I need to figure out what I should follow up with.

Awesome lineup also a big fan of Turkey.

I have tried three different WT tonight (WT101 8yr, WT101 Austin Nichols, RRSiB).  None have hit the bullseye for me tonight.  Strange, usually WT always comes through when I am in need. 

 

So....switched to ER10 PS.  Now we are talk'n

I think I could go Single Barrell or Rare Breed depending on the night. This was first time to have these four together blind. Something I already knew, that 101 is an absolute steal for the price.

I just can't seem to ever get into this whiskey.  Sooty, arid, and bitter.  But, that's the way Bourbonia pours.  Not every bourbon is for everybody.

Local wine bar my wife likes has a great bourbon menu, and today I noticed they had a bottle of the Al Young 50th Anniv. sitting on the shelf. Asked if I could sub that into the 4R flight for an upcharge. Ended up comping me the Al Young and just adding that onto the flight. That's service and was a nice surprise! First time tasting this LE and really hard for me to explain it, but it was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. Caramel and spicy on the nose. Orange peel, apple, and peaches on the front end of the palate with a little nutmeg or clove and maybe a touch of mint or even spearmint on the back end. Finish is dry, long, and warm. Really a treat for me today.

 

Will keep trying to get my hands on a bottle.

I can't say "ever", but that is one that very rarely hits me right too!  But I get anxious if I don't have any on hand for when my SB blend runs low :)

 

Enjoying a mingle I had lost in the cabinet - Lot 40 & Rhetoric 20 (2:1, respectively).  The Rhetoric I thought was too woody, and while not magic - this blend is pretty good.  It's like Lot 40 with a bit of a bourbon kick.

I find it just flat out boring.

Not bad per say, but just downright dull.

Thought this would be an interesting side by side. IW Harper 15 and EC 10yr barrel pick.

I like the nose on both, IW15 is stronger but it's nicer on the EC10. The IW15 isn't bad but kinda boring, the EC10 is much better.

No problem the Harper will be great for people that stop by that kinda like whiskey but aren't necessarily bourbon drinkers. Also the bottle will make a great soldera or a bottle for poor man pappiez. The cork is great.

It doesn't punch you in the face like a lot of bourbon but I love that woody, smoky, leathery finish.

Wife and I have our 5 and 7 yr old grandkids for a week and today the little rugrats wore me out. After they went to bed I've rewarded myself with some ORVW followed by a generous pour of CEHT Warehouse C Tornado.
