Store put this on sale for $55 since the box was banged up, I'm glad the box took that damage!

Website price showed $26, actual price $56. Store manager honored the (incorrect) website price. An early Christmas gift for me!

I know they are not everyone's bag, but I like Arran, couldn't stop myself from picking up these two dustyish bottles.

Took one last ditch effort to nab some BTAC that fell through so grabbed a few more consolation prizes. John Barr 17 was a dusty curiosity for $30.

Got this as an early Christmas present from the wifey (although since I pay the credit card bills, felt like this thread still applies lol).  She wanted me to be able to play with my whiskey before we travel for Christmas, which was very thoughtful!  Unfortunately a @#$%^ head-cold and travel have had me sidelined about a week, so may have to wait a little longer.  Wanted this mostly to try JW Blue (figure a pour in a bar tends to run $40-$50, so for $100 having 200 mL allows multiple studied tastings, not to mention 600 mL of the other stuff).  Looking forward to it!

The Delta Sky Club offers a single pour of JW Blue Label for $20.00 and a double for $30.00. Lowest I've seen on-premise.

Nice! I don't care for JW but SBSing those sure would be fun. I've been eyeing this set myself for some time now.

Picked this up in NYC on Tuesday-- highest ABV I've seen from an official bottling.

My Bunna is bigger than yours! Soon to be in my glass...

Looks delicious. Any idea of its age?

No idea, unfortunately. Peat is quite vibrant, obviously on the younger side. Delicious nonetheless, very heavily sherried and there is no heat to be found in that 60%. I liked it enough to buy this second bottle as a xmas gift to family.

My next purchase is still going to be the 18yr, though. I haven't yet tasted a special release Bunnahabhain that is better than the regular lineup.

Can't go wrong with the 18YO, although I haven't tried the new release with the blue label and Bluto-esque helmsman. I wonder why they're killing off the Roman numerals.

Maybe the average Joe Blow numbnut couldn't figure out what it meant! After all most of the time changes like this are driven by marketing research...

Rochelt finally made it to the shelves in Louisiana-- I've never seen the Wild Raspberry in the wild before.

Picked one of these up this week myself. Should be fun.

Along with a few other odds and ends I picked up today in London (which I will post later), I grabbed this 21yo Glen Elgin from the Cadenhead’s shop

Just took Delivery from St. Louis, surprisingly the Alexamder Murray (Highland/Deanston) appears to be NCF and uncolored since it is really cloudy right now (it's 16 degrees at the moment). $45 for a CS Deanston 12 was worth a gamble as I'm a fan of OB Deanston.

Came across Highland Park Full Volume, which appeared to be 18 years old, a nice proof, had lots of nice info on the box, and was just under $100. Figured it should come home with me.

Was then at Costco, and saw their 18 year old single malt from Alexander Murray for $55, and two of those came home with me as well.

I cracked my Full Volume on Thursday, I have to say I like it quite a bit, love all the info on the box and really enjoyed having an HP that was all Bourbon Cask, great whisky and the price is pretty great considering what things sell for these days. Also gets my vote for best closure on a bottle as a cork inside a screw top.

Hope you find that Bowmore 23 to be enjoyable. After falling in love with a Bowmore 16yo port matured I looked forward to this one with high expectations. But it just wasn't quite up to the 16yo to me for some reason.

OB Bowmore in general is usually not my bag, but indie Bowmore can be really spectacular.  On the plus side there are plenty of people who don't feel the same way as me.

25 minutes of indecision at the liquor store ended with me picking up a Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban. Something about the port finish kept calling to me, and finally I answered.

I think you'll like it. For the money, it's pretty good stuff.
