This sore throat called for a nice healthy pour of CEHT BP last night.

I came across Very Old Barton BIB "100 proof".  Since they quit the "-6-" nonsense, I felt ok buying it.  Here's another drinks real easy for 100 proof (not too complicated) bond.  I do think the discontinued 6 year VOB had a bit more barrel flavor.  This is still pretty decent @ $14.99.

Hanging with the cult tonight to celebrate... Thursday? That will have to do!

The cult recognizes this and salutes you.

Well done!

Another rendezvous with the new barrel of RY10 I found. Fantastic.

A final pour of a bottle of EC single barrel Bourbon Crusaders 10 yr from Deatsville. Absolutely fantastic.

Finishing with some Murray Hill Club. This is great stuff. Can hardly tell there's light whiskey in this blend. Hats of to our own Nancy Fraley @WhiskeyBlender for this creation.

sooooo?.... any notes

All are great pours, this current batch of Rare Breed isn't my favorite but it's still pretty damn good, the Old No. 8 is a better pour than current 101 and honestly last night I enjoyed it more than the Rare Breed, the 12 year is a hell of a pour, lower proof but more full bodied than RB.

Now this is something I’ve yet to have. Need a barrel select of OWA.

Ok, here's a few unopened Loch & K(e)y OWA barrel selects (can't get to the opened bottles just yet!):

Left to right, Barrel #3 (super, BTW!), #64, #68, and #86.    :D

And, here are a few more unopened WA107 L&K barrel selects:

Left to right:  Barrel #168, Microbatch UCF #3135 (featured in a recent Whiskey Advocate article on Unchill Filtered whiskey), "Oops - it's a microbatch", and UCF Microbatch "Freaky Friday".  Notice the trend of getting away from barrel numbers and going to hints about the story behind the bottling?   Gotta' get the bunker cleared a little to get back to the opened bottles, tho', yes?

I haven't enjoyed anything in the past couple of weeks.  I'm getting a knee replacement on the 30th and I don't want my numbers to be off the charts when I get the blood work done on Saturday. :D

Good luck with the knee work, and I was sorry to see (a couple posts later) you also had to endure tooth work -- all this while off bourbon.  That's a triple whammy.

Lately, I've been alternating (and some nights doubling up on) MM CS SP, SAOS 10 yr, SB blend, and good old OGD BIB.  I wonder what tonight will bring . . .?

EDIT - Saw that post about the Cult.  I'm pretty sure I have a 4R SiB on a top shelf.  If so, that will be on for tonight.

Really digging this bourbon/whiskey. Very rich vanilla, caremel and lots of peanuts. I would love to find another bottle. Glad I purchased.

Yeah, that was the Microbatch UCF 3135.  The others were onsies or twosies . . . . . .

And I will be in Houston in the middle of February on my way up to College Station to officiate at the SEC Swimming Championships at A&M.  You free?  ;)

SB Blend to start the weekend!  For my tastes, the cliche fits...The sum is greater than its parts.

'This Bourbon/Whiskey'???    Whiskey; it is Bourbon it ain't.      But, I'm sure you knew that, Dango, right?

I too, am among those that liked that PH, although we are in the minority I fear, my friend.    I still have one or two bunkered.    Haven't seen any 'in the wild' in a long time.    You're lucky to have found it.

Alrighty!  60:40 OWA:W12 is the standard. Adjust to taste as you see fit, though.
