Actually, I didn’t particularly enjoy any of these, but I enjoyed the experience and end result. A friend who’d been traveling, and who knows of my bourbon hobby, gave me a single each of BT, JD, and Woodford Reserve they got on the plane. I don’t particularly like any of these pours, and except for the BT it’s been several months-years since I’ve had any of them... so I decided to do a blind SBS, which I also haven’t done in several months. Good experience connecting my senses to my vocabulary in a conscious way... anyway, I guessed them all correctly, which was satisfying. I put a few drops of water into the BT and WR to somewhat bring the proof closer. Yay me!

When live gives you lemons, make lemonade. When coworkers give you a bag of oranges, make Mellow Corn screwdrivers. Especially when you have free child labor for juicing the oranges.

Haha awesome! I'll need to remember this for when my son gets a bit older. I can't wait for him to start taking over some duties, like mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow lol.

Finding out that I'm going to be a grandpa again + getting ready to leave on vacation with Mrs. Vosgar to celebrate our 40th anniversary + a nice healthy pour of FR 2014 LE SmB = One hell of an outstanding day!!

Well!!!!

Congrats, my friend; and congrats to the expectant parents ...who actually have done; and will do nearly all the work, while Grandpa toils away at spoiling the new addition (edition?) as much as he's allowed.  :D He-Heeee!

A few pours of Parker’s POH while diving into the latest season of Blacklist on Netflix. After watching James Spader for the last 30 years, Raymond Reddington is tailor made for him. The show is fine and nothing special. But Spader is great to watch.

I must agree with you Large Richard!    Spader MADE that show.     Every scene in which he appeared was HIS alone.     The series woulda been canceled after one season if not for him; with him on board, a must see.

Had beer earlier tonight while watching football.  Now it's time to get serious.

I did this bottle as a VBT some months back. I have had it off and on and my intial take stands: a not quite mature bourbon that has enough there to enjoy. Cheers to Beam for putting out a 5-6 year old 100 proof NCF offering for less than $20. Finishing up the late games and this holds up well over ice.

Yeah I think it's very solid especially for under $20 as you said

Lots of college football and bourbon today with a little rye too. OE7 101, OGD BIB, JBDC, WTR 101, and RR SiBs.

Observations:

the ACC is terrible with the exception of Clemson

I probably couldn’t distinguish OE7 from OGD BIB blind except for a slight barley note in the OGD

No. 11 for Stanford is a man

WTR is less spicy than a lot of high rye bourbons

the top 25 is a joke until around week 6

110 proof barrel entry bourbon is better than 115 proof barrel entry bourbon

Bama with a ultra talented QB should be illegal

I agree with every single point that you make.  Except the 2nd line only because I have no experience with OE7.

Here's to college football Saturdays.

4R SmB 2016.  Yowza!! I dig this Bourbon. Great viscosity, citrus notes, along with sweet brown sugar. A longgggg finish. I look forward to the next pour of this beauty.

Cheers

Okay, I couldn't resist.  I have had a couple more pours of this awesome bourbon 2016 4R SmB.

But, I want to leave some for later, so....Back to GTS. Nice consolation prize, eh. Okay, I know that was a gloat. Rude.

Cheers

Killed off a low-fill bottle of Blanton's, followed by a generous pour of WTRB 112+.    Both hit the right spots for my taste buddies.  :P

As a Bills fan week 1 I had to pull Pull out the Handy to drown my sorrows. This week after the Bills beat the 17 point favorite Vikings, had to pull out the PHC to celebrate.

The red headed, bastardized, stepchild of the blantons line. Mediocre but decent when I am looking for something really mellow to just sip on

Some OWA to wrap up the weekend.  The JD was a raffle win at my company picnic yesterday. Haven't had any in years.
