Passed on Boone county bourbon and Rabbit Hole bourbon. I just don't know alot about them and haven't seen many people talk about them.  Can you guys give me the scoop? Should I go back and get one?

Nope. If you are early in your bourbon journey try a lot of things but stick to the big boys and the offerings from Beam, Heaven Hill, Four Roses, Wild Turkey and Buffalo Trace. You’ll need to do a little work to learn the labels the majors put out, but that’s a lot of the fun.

Thank you. I'm 3-4 years into my bourbon Journey and like you said I have found that the big boys have the best stuff. These were just two new labels i haven't seen before. From what I got from the label is Boone county might  MGP and Rabbit Hole might be there own distilled whiskey but I'm not sure.

I've not had Boone County, but what I've seen online is that it is MPG and it is really good. If I come across some I'll definitely buy it. If it's anywhere close to the 10 year Belle Meade bottles from MPG that I've had I'll be incredibly happy.

I passed on KO Batch 8 at $292, which seems to be the going rate these days. I was surprised to see 6 of them in a case, given the market conditions. I just can’t justify spending $300 on that bottle, or even $200 for that matter.

I passed on the new little book and angels envy cask strength. $90 and $200 respectively. I know I would like the angels envy cask strength but at $200 the last couple years I had to say no. Little Book this year sounded interesting but $90 again is stretching it.

I didn't mean to pass on it, they both sold out in an hour state-wide, Rock Hill Farms and EH Taylor 12 year.  Needless to say, I'm pretty upset...?

Birthday bourbon.  Good news was it's at the same price here as last year but at $300 I passed on it last year as well.

I passed on JB Repeal Edition $13.99 @ the drug store.  I'm not sure it's worth trying, or just spend a little more for Distiller's Cut (I know I like).

I too am curious about this

I think he meant Elmer T Lee.

Here’s the email screenshot, but I doubt the information regarding age is accurate.

@0895 when I googled it, I also turned up some results that the 4 grain had been aged 12 years. I’ve never seen the 4G referred to as the EHT 12yr though

Apologies, I meant Elmer T Lee.  Sorry for any freaking out that may have ensued ?

@PhantomLamb thanks for clearing that up. Not so much freaking out from me, more just mildly piqued interest, as I’ve never seen any EHT limited releases in my area, or any ETL for at least a few years. Lol

I was furious.  The email claiming the state store was carrying both ETL and RHF came out around 11AM.  By 1PM (or earlier, that's just when I checked), they were sold-out statewide.

Thankfully my company is HQ'ed in Louisville so I'll be bringing back a big haul later on this month.

Passed on Blanton's...the whole state will be out of stock for the next month.

I passed on Blanton's last week for $59.99.  My wife kept telling me she would buy it for Father's Day.  She and one of my sons were going to be were going to buy me a bottle of bourbon up to $100 for Father's Day but I wouldn't let them.  I am funny about letting my family spend money on me.  I can buy my own bourbon.  I guess I need to learn to let people give me gifts.

What is a "bourbon journey" and where do they want to go?  Is there an end goal in mind or do we just enjoy drinking tasty beverages?

I'm the same way.  It was $58.99 for me plus tax so kind of expensive...I'm trying to collect bourbons I haven't tried yet before getting into all the different expressions like the various FR recipes or EC single barrels.  But yeah, my fiancee is very generous with me but I'd hate it if she ever spent that much on me.
