lcpfratn
This one's even more intense-- incredible strength of distillery character. I can understand why these "Unpeated Style" Caol Ila releases are so polarizing-- damn difficult but rewarding. Looks like you’ve been into that bottle a time or two. Clueby
Got it today. Was too excited to wait till I got home. At least it's not the ubiquitous "crotch shot" of the Pappiez.
meadeweber
Finally found an Oban Night's Watch. Now I have to decide if I want to give it to a friend who has been dying to find one or keep it for myself. Actually, not much of a decision, I'll be giving it to him. I'm a huge GoT fan and would love to have it but he will enjoy it more than I will and I'm sure I'll be sampling it when I'm at his place anyway.
Marekv8
Tough weeks require big bottles. LVMH sure knows what they're doing in regard to luxury packaging…

LVMH sure knows what they're doing in regard to luxury packaging… Beautiful packaging, but I don’t think I even want to know how much that costs.

Auracom
went back and got more laddie 10 along with this oddball that was sitting next to it. wishing it had been a longer finish time and/or cask strength but has decent reviews from what i could find.
Marekv8
Hands-down the best pour at last year’s New York Whiskyfest. Haven’t seen a bootle outside of NYC.

I like that one - not the most complex but I'm a sucker for Fino'd malts
Marekv8
I’ve been picking up shelf-worn G&M “Distillery Label” bottles, charming and typically enjoyable.
Marekv8
Spent the groceries and half the rent... Couldn’t pass up the Bowmore based on the oddball tasting notes.

I don't drink very much Scotch or overseas whiskey, but the tasting notes make me want to try it, just for the novelty of it.

For whatever reason I have a thing for those myself as a plus the are generally priced pretty favorably, here are the last few I grabbed.

Still in search of the Longmorn and Strathisla bottles, you’ve got it made up here! Apparently G&M’s Stateside distribution is going to be upside down for a while.

Marekv8
Lucky find, but not for me-- all heading up north in an attempt to right the disproportionate distribution balance of this particular release.
Marekv8
I've always had to pick up bottles of Longmorn from my travels or via post from the UK. Suddenly this one surfaces locally-- Pernot Ricard must have had difficulty moving these crazy things…

Opened it yesterday and it was everything as advertised, and more-- bourbon-matured Bowmores are a blast.

BigRich
A local LS got a deal on some Black Bull bottles. The 21 yr was $99.99 compared to a normal $140-$170 range so I pulled the trigger on one.
Marekv8
In San Francisco today and picked up a few oddities from K&L and elsewhere-- my weakness for young, blonde, ex-Bourbon Bowmores came a-knockin'.
Marekv8
Hit seven liquor stores between Seattle and Tacoma and came up short (literally), with three 50mL Campbeltown bottles all labeled "NOT FOR RETAIL SALE." Had an enthusiastic Uber driver in both towns that really got into the hunt-- so it was actually quite a bit of fun, and packing for air travel will be a breeze.
