I just saw ECBP today for $65, one bottle left.  Is this a good price?  Should I not have passed on this?

I think it’s a buy!  The only reason I passed is because I’ve already got a bunker full...

While I have purchased quite a bit recently, I did pass on a few:

2018 GTS at $600 (isn't this above secondary? They also offered me last year's PHC, but I didn't even ask for the price)

Elijah Craig SmB PS 9yr at $50 (this seems to be a lot more than most people report buying them for, and 9yrs isn't much of an improvement over a "blend of 8 to 12 year barrels")

Old Medley 12yr at $65 (opinions on this?)

Wilderness Trail BiB and SiB in the $50 to $65 range

Passed up all of these overpriced “clearance” whiskey and ended up with a  vob 80 for $15 instead.

I would have probably jumped on the Panama Pacific 23yo Rum at that price.

That's a $25-$30 bottle around here. $50 is above the ridiculous mark.

Nicely said Jeff-- which leaves one hand free for The Epicurean.

The Single Cask Nation looks like a mislabeled Glenrothes 20yo - probably would grab that one at half off, and the MB Roland for under $30 funsies as well.

4 bottles ECBP, B519, $49.99 each and no limit. Kills me to pass it by, but it's the second highest volume of bourbon in the bunker. I just don't have room for more.

The SCN bottle next to the WW seems to be an Inchmurrin 20 with a Cadenhead Strathisla 19 tag.

I passed on ECBP at a great price once as I also have quite a bit of it.   However, with all the price increases and potential discontinuations I have avowed no more passing on this one.  Just means I get to drink it more often and doubt I will ever really regret it.

Whats the word on this?

I really like it.  Couple of my friends really like it as well.  I bought about 6 bottles of it recently.  I think it won double gold at the San Francisco spirit awards too.

Shizzy, your avatar brought me back 15 years ago when that KY vintage was $40-45 and sooo good. But I didn't realize how good it was then. I just know that I kept buying it!

@Whiskeythink.com

South loop

plenty of WSR, Willet stuff, VOB 80,  and a few others as of this Wednesday

@dad-proof

which MB Roland? I was tempted by the wheat version, but not really willing to roll the dice. I’d rather just get another WSR for about the same price.

@TehRegion219 I would have gone home with that Dartigalongue armagnac. When I was in Chicago last fall I picked up the 1985 and it was fantastic. Not sure if that is an 85 or 95 but a good bet that it's a very good brandy either way. Though if that's a 95 I don't think the price is that much of a discount, I think the 85 was $120.

I don't fault you for not rolling the dice, especially with young craft stuff, likely aged in small barrels. I just haven't seen or tried their stuff, so would likely have for under $30. I don't see the bourbon in your pics, but I think all their stuff comes off the still around 110 proof, straight into a barrel, and then straight into a bottle. No water is ever added. I don't expect it to be great, but different enough to be interesting.

No bourbon, it’s a corn whiskey (yellow label at bottom shelf)

My local Walmart stocks it for around $24 and the Meijer has family size bottles for around 40. I couldn’t imagine paying 89 for a regular BT, easy pass for sure

This was southern Maryland, and the prices were all over the place.  Down the road I bought a Booker's for  66 and a Jim Beam Repeal Batch for 10.

Not a big surprise. Lots of liquor stores price above secondary. GTS (2018 version) is usually around 400-425.
