whoa down, let's not besmirch Texas.

Love the state. Love the people. The infra and politics can be crooked, from what I’ve heard. That’s just from stories though and may be conjecture.

Stopped at a local shop and was disappointed to see place holders for ETL and Weller 12, but no bottles. I asked the miss behind the counter if they had any of those in back, and she brought this out. Never hurts to ask, right @fishnbowljoe?  :P

Appreciate the notice, hopefully this one hits VA soon (they've been releasing pretty early for the last few).

Sometimes I wonder why the heck I pay $50-60-70+ for "premium" selections when there are deals like this at my local grocery...

One of may favorite 'newbies' from the last couple years, based only upon experience in the glass.   If price is factored in, I have to say it drops from the favored class... still a fine pour, just no bargain.

I paid $32 out the door, thought it was a decent price.

Re: the 1792 BiB, I bought one recently but haven't tried it yet.  It was the same price as EHT SmB so we'll see if it measures up.  Has anyone done a SBS with these?

Anyone done a SBS with this and VOB BiB? That’s the one I am morbidly interested in.

Yes, I did last year I think (when it first came out).

it should be buried in this forum somewhere.

So Ive recently learned that VOB is perhaps a different mashbill than 1792, which I didn’t know at the time I compared them.

My overall take last year was that the VOB BiB was a better value dollar wise.

Both products are good pours.

Correct. When I was at Barton last August I'm pretty sure I heard that 1792 has a higher rye percentage than VOB

That is a way better price than I paid.    If memory serves from a-year-ago-plus, I paid nearly $50.

At $32, it is a much different price value equation.   I'd definitely place it in the "must buy" category if I could find at that price.   In fact I'd probably buy several, if available.

Good for you, FOP!   Let us (me!) know what you think of it.

I think I paid about $36. It's an isnta-buy for me at $40 or under. Above that, I might grab a Full Proof instead.

Apparently the pain point I was comfortable with for KC 25th was $80, so comfortable that apparently two was the number of bottles I "needed". One might say why pay so much for a few extra proof points at which point I will point out the fancy packaging, so clearly..... Also grabbed a Saffell since that was never going to not happen.

I am so tight I rarely buy on a whim.  But, I would pick up at least one bottle at that price.

I have yet to see one in Indy.  They may be floating around.  I need to get out more.

Had to drive to Kentucky for work this week. Came back with some goodies.

Russell’s Reserve barrel picks from Rural Inn and Westport Wine & Spirits. And found a place with heavily discounted Saffell, easily my favorite of the year so far (yes, I left some on the shelf). Oh, and one of these groovy 4R SmB Select that I can’t get up here.

I’d buy it again if I saw them at $80 too. I like the juice, just didn’t love the MSRP

I will just say (fairly certain I have before) that if they would have called this a Booker's release with the same specs it would have flown off of the shelves, specs were too close to some of the SiB KC's which are arguably the best value going for well aged high proof bourbon at this point. I probably would have bought 1 had I seen it for $20 more but these were the first discounted bottles I've come across (and truth be told a friend grabbed them for me in Brooklyn).

Rural Inn and Westport are among the best LS for store picks!
