I really enjoyed the movie even if I feel that it’s time for the Scorese crew of actors to pass the torch.

I believe they explicitly said this was the last time the band was getting together.

Looking forward to seeing this when I can fit it into my limited terra firma schedule.

Aren’t you on a boat rotation? You don’t get Netflix out there and have plenty of downtime?

Netflix? Lol, that's a good one. I've got the equivalent of about 1998 dial up. 56 KILObytes/second if everything is working ideally :)

I do have time though. Readin' one a' them thar paper books my grandfather used to tell me about...

Springbank 10 with dessert and coffee. One of the best “eating and drinking” drams out there— as it can hold its own.

What an awesomely fantastic whiskey.  Perfect with a little late afternoon email answering.  It’s been in my Top 5 whiskies for some time, but tonight I’m having to think hard if any of the other 4 can possibly rank higher...  :D

One of purveyors I frequent (who, I must admit, sometimes charges more than it should) advised its email list that Lagavulin 16 and similar offerings likely will jump up to 25% over the next few months/new batches due to tariffs.  When I was in picking up some other things, one of the owners (who is the hard seller/bad cop) said the increase will happen in JAN.  He may be the bad cop, but he's never lied to me.  I may lay down a few of these in spite of the present value vs. future value comparison arguing that, at our current rate of consumption of Lag 16, the money would be better spent buying cat food for our 16 YO cat.  Just saying.

I’m slowly working my way through several bottles of K&L exclusives that landed a couple weeks ago

Prices are increasing due to the tariffs! Some brands are increasing their prices earlier than others, and Diageo brands will be the first to see an increase.

Back into the Ledaig 10yr tonight. A wonderful whisky, IMHO. Priced about the same as Laphroaig 10, a little more proof, un-chillfiltered and no artificial coloring added. Not over the top crazy peatiness but just right for nights like this when I don't want the heavy duty intensity of some other peated whiskies.

I’m enjoying a nice pour from a bottle of Chieftain’s (Independent bottler) 2016 bottling of 19 year old Glenrothes tonight. Bottled at cask strength of 53.2%, NCF and natural colored, this may be one of the best bottles of scotch I’ve ever had.

Since Marekv8 keeps taunting me with pics of his Edradour Sauternes cask matured bottle, figured it was a good day to have some of mine.

Still delicious ?

Since the standard Ledaig 10yr went over so well for me the other night, decided to step it up a bit with my bottle of cask strength Ledaig from Signatory that was picked by The Winebow Group (I posted a pic of it a couple months ago). Bottled at 60.1%, it's an great pour. So much so that I ordered another bottle of it at a tasting tonight that was held by Monique Huston from Winebow. If you ever get a chance to attend an event that she's running, do yourself a favor and go. Her knowledge of various spirits is amazing and she's a lot of fun.

What can I say, I know what I like! They are all actually solid picks, but the Ben Nevis and the Blair Athol are the fruitiest of the bunch and very enjoyable.

3-way SBS: Kaiyō 7, CS, and peated. Wish I had a Laphroaig 10.

It just seems wrong to use a SB Glencairn with a whisky from the darkside :)

Speaking of the dark side... this is this sister bottle to the 10yo Sauternes... lots of stale pipe tobacco and oil paint pigment.

Wow, I am already a fan of Edradour, but these tasting notes sound amazing!
