Winding down while enjoying my 2nd Father's Day.

Enjoy each and every moment friend!  The moments move along fast.  I celebrated my 30th Father's Day.  The funny thing is I still look at my sons as little children yet we have adult relationships now.  While I miss the days of little pitter patter around the house, hauling the kids to school and sports events, I also enjoy having mature conversations about relationships, work, and life.

Picked up 3 KC12's today as it just reappeared after a long absence. Opened one straight away and gave myself a healthy pour that I sipped on while chatting with my Father on the phone because it's his day. What a great combo - chatting with my Dad with a great bourbon in hand.

It's going down so good today that I poured another.

Thanks for sharing!  I missed when this partnership was announced earlier in the year.   I wonder how the small batch compares to VOB?  I always found VOB to be hotter, thinner and less rich on the palate than Ridgemont and now 1792.  Now that I know about it, assuming I see it at my local Costco and the price is similar, I will grab a bottle or two.  I am more intrigued by the BIB and SiB.

I too am,looking forward to this one but for the exact opposite reasons LOL!! Apparently my palate ( back when it was working) was very frugal as I found VOB BIB less hot, thicker and richer than its RR/1792 stablemate and less $ to boot. I never purchased the sub 100p VOBs.

Early Times BIB on a rainy night at the beach while watching basketball. I've had several bottles of this stuff and this bottle is really hitting the spot. I really hope Barton doesn't screw this one up.

This is my reaction as well.  RR 1792 always had this dry tannin note in the finish to me.  The smell and taste of ethanol seemed strong too.  That interfered with my total enjoyment, kept it out of my wheelhouse.  I've tried it several times over the years, starting with the 8 year age stated version.  Always the same.

VOB (bonded or 100) on the other hand has been a favorite since the first pour.

Pulled this from the bunker for Father's Day and my wife poured me a dram.  Had my first taste of OESO and it was surprisingly hot for 108 proof, but the nose was terrific = bananas & fruit.  I think I'll let this bottle settle down a bit and see if it mellows out.

GW4G from the fridge (gotta' make another batch), with a healthy portion of Hawaiian Kalua pork from the slow cooker last night.  Add a little fresh pineapple with the King's Hawaiian sweet rolls and this is heaven on a hot, muggy night in New England.  😋

Nice. That's another that's not around anymore, at least in the last few weeks.

Started with my KC blend. This stuff is cheating. I's always so good, rescues a broken palate or impresses the rookies without trying too hard...

Next, 4th visit to FAE-01. I still can't put a taste bud on this. It was ok, but the only thing I can say for sure is that it isn't a re-purchase...

Started with a pour of MM101, which I enjoyed better than standard MM, but less than the MMCS (and while a 1L bottle, think the MMCS is still the better buy).  Keeping it wheat - ending with some Larceny BP A120 (thanks Dad!)  Wow - this is much better than I remembered my first taste being (although in fairness that was during a GBS event where there was stiff competition).  Just rich and intense with toffee, brown sugar and some butterscotch.  Been a long time since I've poured the standard Larceny, but miles better than I recall that being to my taste buddies!

OK now, I am motived to buy at least one bottle just to give it a go.  If you don't mind saying, where are you located and what was the price?  I get that prices vary by region.  Just curious, especially in comparison to 1792 Small Batch.

Celebrating a good run tonight.  OK, I was looking for an excuse.  I did knock 4 minutes off my 5000k run time from Saturday.  71 degrees F, no humidity, no wind in Indiana in June.  What?

Anyway, who cares.  Tonight I celebrated with a nice pour of OF100 and a small pour of M101.

Tonight it's a pour of KCSB.  I typically pick up the unnamed barrels, because that's what I find.  Never disappoints.  120 proof means treat it appropriately.  Don't want to time travel into the future like Buck Rodgers. 🚀

Sipping some Evan Williams Bottled in Bond now. Yesterday alternated between that and Knob Creek single barrel, today just seeing what all I can get out of EW on its own.
