I’ve been enjoying several different MM iterations lately. The FAE-01 I bought was disappointing. The woody, doughy flavor wasn’t at all to my liking. After a few pours I gave it away. I’d much rather have two bottles of Weller SR than one of the FAE-01. Just my  opinion.

Not shocking coming from you. I just had one pour and thought it was way more complex and interesting than the Weller.  However yeah considering how much you like Weller I could see that.

I’ve come back around to MM in the last year or so, and as I said, I’ve been enjoying several of their products lately. Among them are MM, MMCS, MM46, MM46 CS, MMPS and MM 101. I’ve even done a little blending of some of them too. All these were/are good. I spotted an FAE-01 at a liquor store, and since there were some positive comments about it here on SB, I thought I’d take a flyer on one. It’s not about how much I like Weller. I just didn’t like the FAE-01. 😐

Last night after my daughters retired for the evening I had some daddy time on the back porch.  Started with a bottle kill pour of ORVW10 followed by a nice pour of 1792 BIB.

After a scary 10 days in the hospital (8 in the ICU) with double pneumonia I decided to open my special bottle I’ve been saving for years.    Popped the Pappy 15 tonight and it was delicious.  Kind of makes me think why I’m bunkering all these bottles I don’t drink.  Cheers yall.

Congrats on getting out of there and back home! Nice crack with the Pvw15!

Glad that you are on the mend.  Regarding the bottles, I’ve said to others in face to face conversations over the years...what are you saving them for?  I think that finding more reasons to open those bottles instead of reasons not to would serve us all pretty well.

I had a long, hot day at work today. The good news is that my supervisor was off today, so that made it more bearable. 😜 I got home from work and hit the back patio with short pours of Pappy 15 and 2019 WLW till it started sprinkling. The reason for the nice pours is that today is my birthday. Yes, I’m now officially an old fart. It’s the big 65!  And I quote, “No applause, just throw money.” 😂

You know it's been a really long week when I'm only getting to this post today. Happy belated Joe!

Some Bookers Pigskin, neat, with a plate of cheeses, Parmesan, bleu cheese, and two types of Gouda, before dinner.

GW4G from the fridge on a beautiful, dry, sunny 77 degree evening on the deck w/SWMBO (she's doing Dark 'n Stormies now that it's summer).  Perfect.   😋

I like bourbon and cheese.  That is a mighty hefty pour of Bookers!

Never thought I was going to have the chance to try the Booker’s rye.  It’s fantastic. Spicy gingerbread on the nose; sweet on the palate, thick like honey then long minty with citrus finish; and finally the hug where the proof reveals itself. What a great pour!

I had a couple hours before dinner and I didn’t want to pour a 2nd else SWMBO would’ve squawked.  All the cheeses were good but the bleu cheese was especially good with Bookers!

I opened a bottle of Early Times BIB.  I have a few others stashed.  I don't know if I'll see any more DSP 354 in the wild.  The above posts made me consider.  This is what I feel like having tonight.  I'm not saving it for kingdom come - enjoy it. 🥃😉

Did a Stagg Jr. pick with my local and boy am I impressed. Though I would have preferred in person, we picked from samples and dang, all three were great which made it a tough choice. All three were better than the majority of the blended releases I've had (and I'm a fan of those).

So balanced and in the 9.5 yr age range. I will be buying my max!

Family adult time.  My oldest son swung by and picked up my youngest son when he got back from the casino and they came out for a nice ribeye cookout.  My youngest son even cooked the meal.  I just sat and enjoyed a few pours of bourbon.  Nice adult conversations about work, life, and crazy stuff.

When did my kids grow up and where was I?

The pour of choice was Four Roses Small Batch Select.

It's a beautiful evening for a patio pour.

I need to make a little road trip to get a case or so of this.
