I’ve heard/read lots of phrases about having a pour. A perfect little fire extinguisher is unique. 😎 I hope the fire is out, and things are “more better” for you. 🙂

My thoughts were along the lines of my head is fried/melted so that's how it came about. It is no more than a small smoulder at this stage 😁 all is good. Thanks 😊

I finished the last of the bottle of the 2021 Yellowstone LE that GaryT left for me.  Not really my cup of tea but not bad either.

Rabbit Hole Heigold with friends.  Got one as a gift.  Enjoyed it.  Not super wow, but a good pour.  Probably a touch pricey for what it is.

I’m having an early evening pour of Weller SB. As with @BigRich, the last of the bottle. Luckily this bottle did get better after being open for a while. Sadly, this was still the least favorite bottle of Weller I’ve ever had. 🥲 Ironically, if I hadn’t shared numerous pours with other folks, I’d probably still have a 1/3 or more of the bottle left. 😐

Stained the lattice around the deck today.  Four gallons later, BBC D5 in the glass.

Left this bottle at a friend's house last year and since he doesn't drink, it was waiting for me when I came back.  It reaffirms my opinion that WT 101 is the benchmark for bourbon.  It may sometimes get better, but with this bottle readily available, there is absolutely no excuse for it ever to drop below this level.  And IMO it's a damn fine level for it to be.  Or maybe with Taj Mahal serenading us and a chicken on the smoker and the peepers going nuts in the pond, the whiskey just tastes better here.

After having some furniture delivered today and finding one of my bottles missing from the shelf after they left, I decided on a very liberal pour of BT. Watch your stash while people are in your house, my friends! I’m working with the furniture store to get some form of compensation, but it won’t be at replacement value.

Four gallons of stain or BBC D5? Just checking?

Careful.  You don't want to be labeled as a liberal.  Here, I will help you.  A conservatively liberal pour of BT😀

Started the evening out watching America Greed on CNBC...a story about Rumeal Robinson, sort of sports related.  Wife told me that was trash and she turned the channel to a Christmas movie on Hallmark.  Next thing I knew she was watching a Dylan McDermott movie.  Anyone whose wife is 50+ years old will know that experience.  It ended.  Then a McDreamy movie came on. In women's vernacular, McDreamy is Patrick Dempsey.  I was in between pours and lost track of time between straightboubon.com posts, texting friends and contemplating the meaning of life.  My wife went to bed so I turned it back to American Greed.  Not sure why but it wasn't McDreamy so as I drink more and watch something else, I consider that a win.

Tonight's pour dejour has been MM101.  The more I drink the more I consider it a win.  I feel so shallow yet I really don't care.

If you don't mind revealing, what went missing.

That sucks.  Sounds like it must have been something valuable.

It was a bottle of OWA. It was the closest bottle to the door. I don’t really think they knew the value of the bottles on my shelf, as much as they just wanted to grab a bottle of whiskey because they’re thieves. Otherwise, they would’ve grabbed something of higher value (that’s my guess). It could’ve been worse (much worse), so that’s the positive thing I’m trying to focus on.

My wife and I have discussed this many times, and I think this is the right time to get a lock for the doors in my office. I guess this was the lesson I needed in order to make that decision.
