I covet that candy apple finish in basic BT. I have none right now. SO! After skipping the Giants @ Commanders today (well, actually forgot they were playing as the CDRS play on T-giving), I rewired a bedroom wall sconce (uh, that's a light on an arm that swings over the bed if you aren't careful) and celebrated only popping the circuit breaker once in two hours' work by pulling an OE 101 7YR off the bunker shelf and sipping while watching Jets/Bills. I really miss the discontinued OE 107 7YR. thi8s newer OE just doesn't have the leaf mold,, decomposing leaves, mushroom mustiness I ADORED IN THE OLD OE. But, it is OK if only twice the price. EDIT - I have a line on a basic BT handle if I'd just get in the car and drive an hour or so. But the bunker is so handy, and there's so much IN THERE! Anwalt
Tried the ECBP C923 again. And liked it a lot. More than the first time through. Context: Tried a grenade next to C922. Very similar proof (circa 125), the extra 4 or so years on the C922 told. Way more flavor, less in your face, and nuances to pick through, though I still struggle to name them. Then tried the C923 next to a SP, the latter being 8y and 135 proof. Same as above, the contrast really brought what an extra 5y gets you. The C923 is very good. A touch oaky for my tastes - which comment is easily arrived at in my case. But I've also noticed that things I find to be "too oaky" in the beginning smooth out as the bottle sits. That or I smooth out and the convert the oak to chocolate & tobacco & such. All very good, affirming my little affair with HH and especially ECBP. But both the C922 and C923 really stood out when compared against younger cousins. Had a PHC16. I love, love, love that bottle. I shall need to trade for one. And the M10R finale was great. A bunch of those just dropped here in PR (the best drop I've seen here by far, got Shenks and BB, no M10B). Really enjoying them & working on figuring out something to write other than "Good, veddy, veddy gut".

Problem here is I was able to consolidate 9 C922 over time from my LS. Got a C923 and my guy believes that will be the only shipment we see. I just finished the C923. But have 1 more C922!!

BoyScout
Been away from the forum a long time but not from the topic. Tonight I took a chance on Bib & Tucker, a 6 yo expression. Reading the reviews they are not great but I find this a very drinkable pour. Honey color, light nose, very oily, some sweetness, light burn on the tongue, 26% rye, no wheat and it finishes smooth with no throat burn. A very easy drinker. Good contrast to recently trying Tin Cup 10 & 14.
markandrex
I was running all day to various doctor appointments. I got home and the wife had made clam chowder from scratch and fresh bread. Yum!!! Now I am sitting down to some MM.

markandrex
I was outside this morning plugging and seeding the yard. This seems to be a 11/22 tradition for me. Perfect conditions and a beautiful cool day. My oldest son rolled in just as I finished. Perfect timing on his part. To celebrate the season, having an early pour of WT Diamond.

Good contrast to recently trying Tin Cup 10 & 14. I recently got a bottle of the B&T 6yr. I agree, very drinkable, if not super exciting. It says "distilled in TN" "bottled by Bib & Tucker" on the label. I'm thinking it's sourced from Dickel. I get a hint of that mineral note in it; or maybe it's just my imagination. Does anyone know who distills this?

Jazzhead
Happy Thankgiving to all! Count me as one who prefers to dig the bright side of this journey.
