What Bourbon Did You Purchase Summer 2024?

I just bought the B924 release of Bernheim cask strength wheat whiskey.  $70 K&L online order so don't have it in hand yet.  I've heard good things about it and am looking forward to seeing what a cask strength wheat whiskey tastes like.  I also picked up a few bottles of OGD114 for $30 each and a K&L store pick JDSBBP for $75.

The KC18 was an accidental, lucky find at a local Total Wine at MSRP.  It was evidently part of a raffle and went unclaimed.  I just happened to be in the right place / right time when they released it for purchase 😎.  The Chattanooga BiB Fall 2019 is a backup bottle.

Quite stellar!  I have several different variations of Chattanooga Whiskey and BIB was my favorite.  Knob Creek is always crazy good.

A few pickups this week.  I also add a Kirkland 1792 BIB (not pictured).

Purchased or traded for over the last year. Just made it to PR, 34 bottles, 6 suitcases. More to open! Bookers is the Toogies Invitation, been waiting to try that one for some time.

Some very nice store picks in there, all vetted by Those Who Know.

Did make the error of not "try before buy" on HH20. Not sure about that one yet. I just tend to love almost all things HH (most of the malted experiments and ECTB excepted) and went for it.

I chased her for years. She finally looked my way and the $189 slipped from my wallet as easily as falling off of a log in a muddy waters, loaded with alligators, LA swamp. (glad to have/buyers remorse kind'a thing)

To make matters worse, the JEP Decanter was replenished, so I did the same. 2.4 less proof points than my last one, but $10 cheaper, also.

P.S. Luv Ya, Nancy...

Only visited one store while my wife grocery shopped a couple doors away.  I picked up basic offerings - one 4R SmB Select, one Benchmark bonded, and one JD bonded.  The 4R is a back-up.  The Benchmark was because I can't remember what I thought of the first and only bottle I bought last year.  The JD was because I liked the first several I bought, none of which are around.

Be a few days before I open one.  I just opened a VOB 100 "aged 6 years".

Curious about your opinion on that Toogie's Invitation.  Back in the day, it was one of my favorite batches.  A roundtable batch IIRC.

Liked the first pour. But that means little, since it was the fourth bottle I opened and tried, lol.

I will side by side it with some other Bookers and report.

Damn you got a lot of bottles! 👍

It has been a bit excessive. But having a ball and learning a bunch. Also have a lot of New Friends Who Want to Visit, oddly and in spite of my misanthropy.

Every time I figure "I'll slow down", the network shows up with "But how about this?".

And I am weak.

I hear you.  Mind you, I'm not casting aspersions.  Hello pot?  It's me, the kettle calling! 😁

I was out grocery shopping and stopped by one of the regular LS.  Not a lot interesting but they had the new Little Book 8 (rye) for $199. I passed as I have one coming in the next Barreled & Boxed shipment and the price was ridiculous.
I asked about the one next to it (behind the counter), the owner said that was “the old one”.  I asked how much, she said $125, we settled at $90 for the backup LB7 I’ve been watching gather dust for 6 months.
Who knows, I may be back in Dec for the LB8 (backup) if it is as good as the reviews claim and I can work the same deal.

ECBP and Larceny B524 just popped up on K&L's web site so I bought just one bottle of each.  I'm not feeling the need to buy multiples or even backups lately.  If I'm paying attention, I seem to be able to land one whenever the new batches come out.

They'll be with my other orders in will call at the San Francisco store until my orders total $500 or more (which happens more quickly than I'd like to admit).  Then, they will deliver everything to my house for $9 which is a bargain considering gas and Bay Bridge toll would be multiples of that (not to mention the time, traffic and brain damage) if I drove there to pick it up.

She still made money and you helped her clear shelf space.  A deed well done!

Welcome to the club! You are in GREAT company my friend.

Watch out for @smokinjoe -  he's a pros pro at making you need to buy more bourbon. Just ask how I know!

That would look great on a t-shirt!

A large graphic of the SB Glencairn on the back and a smaller graphic of the same, on the front along with "Enablers with Taste"

Mrs. Clueby and I had an overnight road trip for a gig I was playing last night so we did a bit of exploring on the way home. Overpaid a bit I'm sure for the 13C but worth a gamble. I really like the regular Penelope barrel strength so hoping the age stated version is even better for $5 more. We also stopped and had our fudge packed.
